PNOYs Initial Rollercoaster Drive

A year of leading the route to find the roadmap of change has already passed for
President Benigno Noynoy Aquino after the trust of the Filipinos was favored for him to
be seated on top. The society, even I, a student, currently doing right sense of what little
step ups have been done and what still does he needs to get to the bottom of those little
step ups to put it into a great development.
Undeniably, we heard the simple, yet powerful words that made the populace
believe him; thus, the good intentions he said so must definitely plant into real actions
what a good leader should do. His first step is the new style of leadership that brought
new hope to the Philippines to resolve its deep-rooted problems. One year has gone,
hows our country doing right now? Its perceptibly still in the same, poor condition. A
low-stated country having low life quality, lived by many unfortunate people with high
anticipations, hoping to be raised up. He told people various catchy phrases but was he
able to stay true to his promises? Was he able to free the Philippines from corruption
and poverty?
At these moments, the dilemmas, issues, crises of the former administration are
showing recently that made the Filipinos sleeping mind awakened. It wasnt ended still.
With that, negative feedbacks were thrown to him added by other gloomy comings and
goings our country is receiving because we are looking for keys and not for tactics that
will unlock the retained puzzles that causing our sufferings. We are looking for his
proceedings and we are still waiting for his accurate and fast movements. I do
understand that it couldnt be erased in one click, in 365 nights. But on tenterhooks that
as soon as possible, corruptions, poverties, underemployments, scarcities, criticisms
will be rubbed out in the path of Philippines by his governance so it would no longer
bear those predicaments.
Moreover, its not just only on the hands of PNOY that will lift our country up in its
downstream. Its the hands of all of us, Filipinos. Hes taking the lead, and we should
tag along. We gave our trust to him so we should lean on. For me, its not yet the time to
judge him. I appreciated all his good beginnings. No one knows what is more to him for
us to have a better future and life for the next five years to come, more opportunities
and time for this.
Altogether; lets move to the straight path President Aquino was leading to and
our eyes will see progress. Lets push him and not to pull down to finish his rollercoaster
drive successfully.

Other students gave their point of views regarding the first year of President Noynoy
Aquino:
Actually, at the start of his term, I really had high hopes that hell do great while
hes the President of the Philippines. But after a year, I could say that I think his
administration is cursed. In a way that problem had arose as well as there is no
improvement when it comes to the citizens lives. PNOY, as of now, is only a president
who is full of words but lacks action. He would amaze you by the way he speak but will
never do when it comes to the things he have done. I was really doubtful now about
everything. I dont think were on the right path that hes saying. Hes just a president
who knows everything but can do nothing.
- Ritzchelle Belenzo IV - 1
Is the start of a new administration also the start of the countrys changes? As I
can see, the Aquino administration has no difference from the past regimes. Crisis,
crimes and corruptions still exist in here. Its been a year since PNOY has taken then
throne from PGMA, but, I cant see any progress in the Philippines. The past problems
are still problems. They lied when they said that they are going to lead the people to the
straight path. Do you think this path were taking today is what we call straight? For
me, it seems like PNOY just wanted the power to take revenge to whoever contradicted
their family principles. And Philippines is still a third world country.

PNOYs first year of governance in the Philippines had run smooth. Its just that
the entire nation didnt feel the progress in our country. As for my opinion, no matter
who will be the president of our country, if the citizens would leave all the decisions and
progress to the government, there certainly would be no progress. Filipinos should
cooperate with our government because they only lead us to have a better future. They
cannot lead as to the peak of progress, if we, Filipinos do not help ourselves. Its good
to see that PNOY did a great change. He exposed all the corruptions made by the
previous administration, which made the deaf, blind, and mute people to see, hear and
speak of ourselves. The citizens, however, should not judge how the president
governed the nation for a year. Who knows? He might be the one to lift up the
Philippines from its present state. He still has years to prove himself worthy of the
position the Filipino nation gave him or put him to.

If graft and corruption still exists in this present government, what will be the
future of the Philippines next generation? As the years passed, I can say that I cant
feel the improvement in our country. The previous Arroyo administration is the same as

PNOYs administration, no changes at all. More people in the government are involved
in different issues. More fund issues were revealed, the achievement of justice is hard
to get, poverty and crimes, and how can this problems be solved by PNOY? He should
have the best plans for the country. Best plans for the improvement of the Philippines.
A president should not bring people by their promises, but he should grant what he had
said. He should be a good leader, the Filipino people are hoping for the change.
- Sheina Mae O. Gaon IV - 1
From the beginning of his administration, President Noynoy Aquino got the trust
of the Filipinos because of his convincing words during his inauguration. But a year has
already passed by with him leading our country, and yet, there is no progress at all in
our country status. He just makes the Filipino believe that he can make our lives better
but he doesnt. I feel doubtful if he really did something for the progress and
improvement of our economy during the first year of his term because I cant see the
status of the Philippines that PNOY is describing.
- Janelle C. Gajardo IV -1
After a year sitting in the highest chair in the nation and all critics and fragrant
words. What really happen to our country with PNOY leading the way? Well, for me as a
young student, it is very visible that the way for goodness is still not the track were
taking. We are at the wrong way. Statistically speaking, the Filipino in the lower society
including me cannot feel the progress that our president promised in his campaign. Our
life is still the same. Yes, it is just a year and change cannot happen overnight. But hey,
lets wake up our minds. If we are heading to success, one year is enough to see that
we are getting started.
- Jan Mykel R. Torregoza IV - 1
It has been a year that the Philippines was under the rule of President Aquino.
But what did happen to the country long after his oath. The Philippines was subjected to
many crises, many issues and many questionable practices involving government
officials, so the current administration pursues corrupt with some acts, decrees and
orders like that of rebuffing government and midnight appointments. Another problem
was underemployment, the PNOY administration forces global interrelations, grabbing
job opportunities to Filipino people. According to some surveys, less Filipinos
acknowledge themselves to be in the least kind in the society; more Filipinos have
courage and the will to cope up with life.

A TURTLE CRAWLING ON THE SAND that is how I describe President

Benigno Aquino IIIs Administration. Yes, you read it right crawling. PNOYs solutions
to solve our countrys problems and issues for me, is in a slow progress. A year has
already passed since he was proclaimed as Philippiness 15th President, but nothing
had changed. Yes, I know a year is not enough to wake from a nightmare. But for what
the Aquino Administration has done for its first year of service is not enough for what we
should have now for a year.
- Tricia Rae N. Zapata
He is a slow worker, but I hope he is sure of what he is doing for the
improvement of our country. He should be slow but sure.
- Mrs. Aurora Santiago
PNOY marked his first year as a President with a conviction of fighting corruption
in the government. Bureau of Internal Revenue for instance achieved their goal in tax
collection, even filing tax evasion cases to politicians, businessman, professionals,
actors and actresses, government employees, and private citizens. The once
untouchable personalities are now facing tax evasion cases. The questionable diversion
of PAGCOR and PNP funds was divulged with strong evidences against the former top
officials. He was also able to stopped unscrupulous government projects mostly funded
by foreign countries and have it properly investigated. His infamous drive against UTAK
WANGWANG in the government was felt with fear and trembling. But with these
triumphant acts, there are also government agencies which our being left behind or
stagnant in their performance, BOC is one, also the PPP of DSWD, the Department of
Tourism and DepEd. Let us continue to be vigilant in his performance as been
President, but also be lineout in understanding his ways.
