labo ratory UTAC . Their procedures include the
determination of frame strength , vibrational analysis,
fatigue test , load test , etc.

fessionally assemble any MOTOBECANE bicycle you
purchase from him . Adjustment and alignment are
the most important factors to ensure that the bicycle
is safe to ride , in top performing order and custom-
adjusted to the physical needs of its rider . MOTOBECANE

MOTOBECANE LIMITED WARRANTY

MOTOBECANE bicycles and com ponen t parts are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship .
MOTOBECANE will replace , at no charge , to the original consumer, for an unlimited time, the frame and fork of any MOTOBECANE bicycle
determined to be defective under the terms of thi s warranty , EXC EPT dealer labor charge s due to free replacement of a defective frame and
lork after one (1) year of the date of original retail purchase , which are not covered by this warranty .
MOTOBECANE will replace, at no charge , to the original consumer, for a period of six (6) months from the date of original retail purchase
any MOTOBECANE component part determined to be defective under the terms of this warranty .
Any authorized MOTOBECANE dealer with the approval of the MOTOBECANE factory or MOTOBECANE distributor shall determine whether
a MOTOBECANE bicycle or part is defective under the terms of this warranty .
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER ANY PERSONAL INJURIES, DAMAGE TO OR FAILURE OF THE BICYCLE OR ANY OTHER LOSS OR
DAMAGE DUE TO MISUSE, NEGLECT, ABUSE, NORMAL WEAR, ACCIDENT, IMPROPER ASSEMBLY , IMPROPER MAINTENANCE OR
MODIFICATION.
Replacement of defective parts and those dealer charges specified above shall be the consumer's sole remedy under this warranty, and IN
NO EVENT SHALL MOTOBECANE BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING A WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY WHICH EXTENDS BEYOND
THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY .
This bicycle is not designed or sold for use under any circumstances in motocross , stunt riding or similar activities. No power-driven fi xture
should be adapted on this bicycle . Violation of this would entail cancellation of the warranty ,

Cable guides are brazed -on the top tube replacing the cable clips and therefore
combining lightness and smoother action . .

The lower part of the right-hand seat stay has a brazed-on chain rest nipple to
hang up the chain when removing the wheel.
A new handlebar sleeve : the new MOTOBECANE wrapping (patented) imitates
the Italian hand-stitched leather sleeves exclusively fitted on high-priced bicycles .
Easy to replace, the Motobecane sleeves are fitted as standard equipment on the
1978 line. (except for the NOMADE and the TEAM CHAMPION)
The top of the line is equipped with brazed-on bottle cage bosses.
The new down tube decal , combining elegance and originality is now standard on
the " RACING" line .

New colors in the line are part of a new generation , similar to metallized colors but
in which the particles are replaced by plastic , consequently improving aspect,
endurance and longevity.

VITUS 172: Comparable in quality to the best known brands . The tubes
are made of double butted special steel alloy, light and
highly resistant.

REYNOLDS 531 : The unquestioned choice among serious cyclists . It is a

very strong seamless manganese-molybdenum steel that
retains a great percentage of its mechanical properties after
brazing .
