Handling of multiple Usage types

H
Priority
LONG DESCRIPTION (AS PROPOSED BY EDM)

1. Extraction of Usages
For Large customers (MT/AT/GCBT): Only active, reactive and demand is read. Because of the limitations of current
system and tariff model, peak and off peak or other time interval usages are not considered for reading and billing.
EDM plans to introduce TIME OF USE (Offpeak, peak) usage types. The system should be able to handle any
number of usages.
For low voltage customers (BT) only active energy is read.

2. Extraction of contract statuses.

It must also be configured the service point status that are eligible for visit or reading in the system. The proposal is
to exclude inactive/cancelled service and extract the rest (Active or disconnected customers) of service points with
meter installed.

ITINERARY
GENERATION?

3. Itinerary Distribution
This process (automatically) distributes generated itinerary cycles based on distribution method selected for
itinerary (AMR/CMS Online/CMS Offline) and based on the route/itinerary cycle type (real/estimated/control).
Depending on these settings system will prepare the itinerary cycle for processing in:
Internal meter reading system, which performs (based on the route cycle type real/estimated/control):
o Meter reading using HHU
o Meter reading using reading sheet
o Estimation
CMS Offline - System distributes itinerary cycle for processing in CMS Offline, which will perform meter
reading using HHU or reading sheet.

a. AMR
With the current AMR meter management system (VC90), CMS for the itinerary in AMR status
will not generate itinerary files. The AMR readings will be captured manually by the Data
Entry/Head. This will be the case until the AMR meter management system is upgraded and a
proper interface is designed.

Current procedures will continue with CMS and ACE VISION and VC 90 in order to get the
readings of AMR customers.

b. Prepaid Meters

EMCMS PROJECT
Currently prepayment meters (CREDELEC) are not read, though, according to procedures
should be revised once a year.
In order to get more accurate energy balance, EDM is planning to read prepayment meters (not
every month, but quarterly). CMS will collect this reading as control reading (not to bill with it)
but to interface with Energy Balance System. This reading will be collected the following way:
the reader will get the total usage (accumulative amount of all the recharges), from this amount
will deduct the remaining usage.

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED SOLUTION/SCOPE (TO BE FILLED BY INDRA)
