Why shouldn't we be disrespectful and Why is it important to follow the
Regulation for the wearing and apperance of the US ARMY uniform.
I want to start of with my of meaning of respect.Respect is
something that we constantly determine in our lifes who we choose to respect, most people have to earn our respect even though we do give a certain amount of respect to a stranger that we met from the first time until we can determine for ourselves if they deserve even that much. We treat them with a certain amount of honor or esteem. Once again until we determine by their behavior if they deserve that honor and esteem We show the person consideration and appreciation, at first it may only be a small amount and it will either grow, or we determine that they are not worthy of our time and consideration, and that they may lack honor. We are treat them politely. Not everyone that we meet in our life would deserves respect, and we have the right to be respected by others also. Since our time, is worth something. People show each other consideration and appreciation for what we do for each other and if they don’t then in return we choose not to give them respect or consideration for their time and feelings. However for a junior enlisted in the US ARMY,she has to treat all NCO's with respect, she doesn't have the choice to determine whether, a NCO is worthy of her time. No matter how they treat her, she has to be polite and show them the consideration that all NCO's desires. A junior enlisted will show appreciation for their time, and attention even if the attention is negative, They are NCO's and she is a private therefore she is not worthy of their attention. A junior enlisted doesn't have the right to determine who is honorable and who is not so she will give respect to all NCO's no matter what. A junior enlisted is to show them consideration by excuting orders without hesitation. A junior enlisted will always watch the manor in which she speaks to a NCO, a junior enlisted never raises her voice to a NCO that would be disrespectful. She doesn’t have to be respected since she is just a junior enlisted. A junior enlisted will stay within her rank, by displaying it for all to see, she knows that her behavior is a reflection upon her Superiors, as well as the unit or company that she belongs to. She will work hard to always make sure her behavior never brings her unit or NCO's dishonor. She will honor and obey the commands and wishes of her Superiors. Being disrespectful will only bring unnesssary action towards yourself. To disrespect your superior,is disrespecting what they had to go through, to get to that postion. If we as junior enlisted can't come to our NCO's about how feel or voice our concerns without being punished or coming off disrepectful, who can we talk to? So, what is the real meaning of disrespect? There are so many meanings, it depends of the person. The importance of why we should comply with the army regulations of the wearing of the uniform because it shows disipline within the indiviual soldier. It shows that the soldier and follow rules and direction. Also according to AR 670-1, the Army is a uniformed service where discipline is judged, in part, by the manner in which a soldier wears a prescribed uniform, as well as by the individual’s personal appearance. Therefore, a neat and well-groomed appearance by all soldiers is fundamental to the Army and contributes to building the pride and esprit essential to an effective military force. A vital ingredient of the Army’s strength and military effectiveness is the pride and self discipline that American soldiers bring to their Service through a conservative military image. It is the responsibility of commanders to ensure that military personnel under their command present a neat and soldierly appearance. Therefore, in the absence of specific procedures or guidelines, commanders must determine a soldier’s compliance with standards in this regulation. Soldiers must take pride in their appearance at all times, in or out of uniform, on and off duty. In conclusion, this is my personal opinon on disrepect and the wearing of the army uniform.
