You are hereby notified of the existence of numerous blight violations upon the premises
owned by you and/or under your control, located at 501 East Main Street in the City of
Ansonia. Specifically, the following violations have been found to exist:

1.

70 sections of broken/shattered windows on East Main Street;

2.

17 sections of broken/shattered windows on the North side of the property;

3.

22 sections of broken/shattered windows on the West side of the property;

4.

94 sections of broken/shattered windows in the alleyway of the property;

5.

Numerous instances of graffiti on all sides of the property;

6.

Vegetation overgrowth protruding through cement on all sides of the property;

7.

Crumbling cement and debris on all sides of the property; and

8.

Exposed rebar on the roofofthe property.

Penalty:

City of Ansonia Code of Ordinances Section 13-50 mandates: "Violations

of the provisions of this article shall be punishable by a fine of one
hundred dollars ($100.00) for each day aviolation exists and will
commence on day of notice. The fine will increase to two hundred and
fifty dollars ($250.00) per day if not paid within thirry business days.

NOTE:

Please be advised that fees will continue to accumulate until

the City is informed that said violation has been corrected.

In addition, Section 13-50 (f) provides that in the event an owner fails to
timely correct said blighted conditions within ten (10) days, the City of
Ansonia will take necessary steps to correct andlor remove the blighted
conditions. Any costs incurred by the City of Ansonia for the removal of
the blight conditions shall be recorded on the Ansonia Land Records as a
lien against the real property.

Appeal:

City of Ansonia Code of Ordinances Section 13-53 provides that, "Within

ten (10) business days from the receipt of written notification of the
violations, any individual may request an appeal of the decision by filing a
written request in the Ansonia Town Clerk's Office."

NOTE: An appeals form is attached for your convenience.

If you do not

demand such a hearing, an assessment and judgment shall be

entered against you and such judgment may issue without further notice.

Calculation of Fine: Please note that each violation is calculated as a separate offense and that
each offense will be subject to a separate daily fine of one hundred dollars
per day ($tOO per day), increasing to two hundred and fifty dollars per day
after 30 days ($250 per day after 30 days).

Specifically, 13-50(a) of the Ansonia City Charter states:

"Each violation of any provision of this article shall be considered
separate offense hereunder and each day any violation of any
provision of this article shall continue shall constitute a separate
offense hereunder."
