STANDARD SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION

Tonality cladding tiles show a profile on the reverse and are attached onto a vertical aluminium support system.

PBS Distributors has developed a unique system

for Tonality clay tiles. The advantages of this
system are:
Aluminium profiles with 15 year guarantee
Cavity with ventilation
Unique feature of sealing vertical joint, providing
4 layers of defence against water infiltration
Easy installation and replacement
Anti-locking system to prevent tile from being
forcibly removed
Light weight system has excellent earthquake

For the interior and exterior corners PBS Distributors

provide a solution with aluminium profiles, that can
be powder coated in custom colours. Mitre joints

T-LINE SYSTEMS FOR STAGGERED PATTERNS

TONALITY T-Line
The TONALITY T-Line system creates the
classic appearance of brickwork. It is suitable
for all kinds of tiles and tile sizes.
T-Line uses the same profiles as the standard
system but has an alternative solution for the
vertical seal between the tiles.

The fixing pins will be concealed, when the ceramic tile

is in place. These pins are easily accessible if the need
arises for any maintenance in the future.

Tonality Sunscreen System offers sun and privcay protection.

User friendly installation and variable joints add to the creative design
possibilities.
The Baguette and Lamelle tile are a classic fired clay tile, to match in well with
the facade tile. The sun screens aesthetic appearance compliments other
facade materials such as Natura and Parklex.

Durability

Tonality meets the following performance criteria of the

NZBC:Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2,
and B1.3.4 for the relevant physical conditions of B1.3.3.
Clause B2 DURABILITY: The system meets
Permformance B2.3.1(b), not less than 15 years.
Clause E2 EXTERNAL MOISTURE: Vertical walls
incorporating this system as an exterior cladding can
meet Perfomance E2.3.2 and E2.3.5.
Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: The
system meets Performance F2.3.1. The system will not
present a health hazard to people.

The finest processing of our raw materials ensures the

Clay as a Raw Material

As a raw material clay has been well known since ancient times. Clays are the product of weathering and erosion of the Earths
crust. It occurs in continental areas and coastal areas.
The variety of clay is dependent on the physical and environmental conditions prevaling at the time of formation. These
conditions predetermine the clays characteristics producing many varieties for different applications and processes.
The quality clays used to manufacture the TONALITY products, are quarried in the Westerwald area of Germany. These clays
are world reknown for their particular purity.

Manufacturing
procedure
TONALITY cladding tiles are
manufactured in ultra-modern
production plants, using a vacuum
extrusion method. In the course of
the patented Keralis procedure,
the raw material clay is dried,
processed into the finest powered
clay and completely dyed in finely
graduated ratios of colour mixtures.
The products are subsequently fired
at temperatures of approx 1,200C.
A bonding process will result from
the combination of high quality raw
material and high baking
temperatures.
A smooth impermeable surface is
the result.
The production of TONALITY
cladding tiles are in accordance
with DIN EN ISO 9001 Quality
Management System and DIN EN
ISO 14000 Environmental
Management System.
