Creating a Future of Hope


Christian Childrens Fund of Canada
(CCFC) works with half a million
children and families around the world,
with specific focus in Burkina Faso,
Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Nicaragua,
and Paraguay.

Working with partners and consulting with


community members, governments, and other
partners, CCFC creates programs that work to
alleviate the challenges associated with child
poverty in each country and community.
Children have specific needs and are especially
vulnerable to increasing threats in their
environment. They are too often excluded in
poor communities that are deprived of essential
materials and services and are marginalized based
on age, gender, and caste. CCFC addresses the

CCFC helps communities improve their resilience


to withstand shocks from man-made or natural
disasters. When a disaster occurs, CCFC provides
humanitarian assistance to communities and
focuses on protecting children.

Children are not helpless victims, and we


are striving to help more children and youth
become active agents of change within their
communities, which will enable them to claim
their rights.

Giving Communities a Voice


Through collaboration with local
communities and Canadian stakeholders,
we advocate on behalf of those who are
excluded and marginalized to develop
sustainable, long-term solutions to poverty.

STRATEGY 1 : Improve the Quality of Life for Children and Youth in


Empowered Communities
GOAL 1: Promote Education
Focus on improving access to education and non-exploitative employment as it will aid in developing stronger, more
empowered communities, and improve the quality of life for children and youth.

Our Objectives:

Enhance the quality of formal and informal


education for girls and boys
Reduce social and systemic barriers to education
to further gender equality and eliminate
disparities of all kinds that hinder access to safe
learning environments
Increase collaboration of communities with local
and regional governments and other relevant
leaders in the area of education
Improve working conditions for youth

GOAL 2: Implement Safe Health and Nutrition Practices


Improve the overall health and nutrition of children and youth in communities.

communities where CCFC works
Increase use of preventive health practices and
nutritional behaviours among children, youth,
and their families

GOAL 3: Strengthen Community Organizations


Enable self-sustainability by empowering community members to take active roles in their
families, communities, regions, and nations.

that of children and youth in community-based
organizations that are representative of age,
gender, and ability in order to ensure fulfillment
of their rights
Develop better functionality and management of
community-development projects and processes

GOAL 4: Develop Safe Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Practices


Ensure children, youth, and their families have access to clean, potable water
and are educated on hygienic sanitation practices.

Improve adoption of hygienic sanitation practices
by children and families
Improve environmentally sustainable
management of water, sanitation, and health
(WASH) facilities and services by communities

GOAL 5: Support Jobs and Skills


Development
Improve the resilience of communities to withstand shocks
through sustainable employment, strong youth engagement,
and empowered community-based organizations.

income-generating activities
Increase collaboration of communities with local and
regional governments and other relevant organizations
Lessen vulnerability to natural disasters that affect the
livelihoods of community members

Become Better Global Citizens
Strengthen our commitment to promoting social justice
for issues concerning the rights of children.

Grow and diversify our supporter base, increase grant income, and develop a solid
network of corporate and community partners to help more children around the world.
