A gas reservoir under partial water drive produced 12.0 MMMSCF
20
(14.7 psia and 60 F) when the average reservoir pressure had dropped
from 3000 psia to 2200 psia. During the same interval an estimated
5.20 MMbbl of water entered the reservoir based on the volume of the
invaded area. If the gas deviation factor at 3000 psia and BHT of 170
F is 0.88 and at 2200 psia is 0, 78, what is the initial volume gas inplace measured at 14.7 psia and 60 F
Calculate the volume of water which has encroached the reservoir at
20
the end of periods for which production data given is as below:
Initial Reservoir Pressure = 3480 psia
Two phase volume factor at 3480 psia = 8.43839 cu.ft/ STB
Initial Gas volume factor = 0.0048843 cu.ft/ SCF
Gas volume factor at 3190 psia = 0.0052379 cu.ft/ SCF
Gas volume factor at 3240 psia = 0.0051714 cu.ft/ SCF
Oil volume factor at 3240 psia = 1.45
Oil volume factor at 3190 psia = 1.4
Oil volume factor at 3139 psia = 1.35
at 3240 psia = 700 SCF/STB
at 3190 psia = 650 SCF/STB
at 3139 psia = 600 SCF/STB
Initial oil in place (Volumetric) = 223.0 MMSTB
Initial Free gas in place (Volumetric) = 80.61 MMSCF

Given the following data for an under saturated horizontal oil
20
reservoir undergoing water displacement:
Troughput rate = 1000 reservoir reservoir bbl/day
Average Porosity = 18%
Initial (Connate water Saturation) = 20%
Cross Section Area = 5000 sq.ft
Water viscosity = 0.62 cp
Oil viscosity = 2.48 cp
= 1.50 bbl/STB
= 1.50 bbl/STB
Distance between injection and production well = 5000 ft.
