Q2 What knowledge and skills do your employees have that can be seen as

Possible assumption could be: they have experience working in a childcare
centre which could help with attending to children, or they have an expertise
with select exactly the right bike for the right client.

Fifth SWOT Analysis: The Strength under this circumstance is that the
company is trying to outperform their competitors in services, such as free or at a
lower rate bike repairs, which could convert to more sales. The Weakness in this
case is that offering a free or at a lower rate could not cover the cost of labour.
The Opportunity here could be to offer a one off free or at a lower rate bike
repair for their first bike service, if the buy a bike from their shop. Then after
giving that option charge them the standard rate for a bike service. The Threat
here is that other companies could offer the same option/service to their
customers.

Sixth SWOT Analysis: The Strength in this assumption is that the competitor
can make more money in the long term if they sell their products at a cheaper
price, which they can do because they are selling large amounts of this product.
The Weakness is that there is a risk of not selling all their stock, which can
happen if this field/hobby becomes ostracized. The Opportunity here is that if
Way Out Bikes can find a way on how to meet this demand, while still living within
their means, they could possibly out do their competition and become the leading
company on the sales of bike ware and bike related technology. The Threat for
the opposing company is that if Way Out Bikes can meet the quantity of sales
and still charge the same amount they are currently offering they would make
more money in the short and long term.
Q7 Is this company ready to adjust to future trends that may occur in its
lifetime? If Yes, how?
Possible assumption could be; Yes , it is ready to adjust to future trends that
may occur in its lifetime. How we will do this is by obtaining up to date
information/statistics about the organisations strengths, weaknesses and
performances. Obtaining this information will highlight the critical issues that
the organisation faces and what its strategic plan must address.

Eighth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that the company is open to many new
and innovative ideas that would lead to long term success. The Weakness is
they may get court up in bad innovative ideas that dont lead to long term success
for the company. The Opportunity here is that the company can become very
successful if they choose the right new and innovative ideas for the company.
The Threat is other companies could take the same approach and they do not
choose the wrong ideas and we/Way Out Bikes do and we loose time and money
and they do not.

competitors capabilities are compared to ours. The Weakness is that we/Way
Out Bikes cannot compete with their cheaper prices. The Opportunity could be
to offer them something extra that isnt costly to the company, such as tailor
making a bike program that is suitable for the individual. The Threat is that other
companies could provide the same service and then you do not have anything
special to offer customers.
Q10 Do you know of any important feature that exist within this industry?

genuinely concerned about their health and wellbeing and feel that this will
help improve their way of life.

important features that exist within the bike ware industry. The Weakness here is
that they do not mention other important features for example, they dont say that
knowing some basic road rules is an important feature within this industry. The
Opportunity for WOB could be to make up a book with important facts about

Q11 Do you know what strategy your competitor is doing to gather buyers?
Possible assumption could be: Yes, they are using the strategy of selling their
products for a cheaper price than Way Out Bikes.
Eleventh SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that WOB knows the strategy of
some of their competitors. The Weakness is that they only acknowledge one of
their competitors strategies. The Opportunity is that WOB could try and find out
if their competitors have other strategies that they use to gather buyers. The
Threat is that if WOB do not know at least one more of their competitors
strategies, they may be left unarmed as to how to combat these.
Q12 Do you know what the competitor can do that is different to you?
Possible assumption could be: Yes, they are selling their bikes and bike ware
for a higher discounted price.
Twelfth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is WOB knows what their competitors
can offer which is different to. The Weakness is WOB cannot change the
outcome. The Opportunity here for WOB is to offer something extra that is
different to their competitors for example, special advice on which bike is more
suitable to their lifestyle. The Threat for WOB is they may be inexperienced on
giving special advice to people, which means they dont have something extra to
offer customers. This could lead to not being as competitive with other companies
for the reason that WOB has nothing special to offer, just a more expensive bike.
Thirteenth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that you know what they may offer
such as bike repair services. The Weakness is that they may offer better and
cheaper bike services. The Opportunity is that you could make your bike
services cheaper and return their bike in a shorter amount of time. The Threat is
your competitors my then do the same, such as offer cheaper services and return
their customers bikes in a shorter amount of time in what you are offering.

industry?
Possible assumption could be: Yes, they believe they are the largest bike ware
provider in that district or state.
Fourteenth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that WOB believe they know one
thing about their competitors, which is they think they are one of the largest bike
ware distributors in the district or state. The Weakness is that they have not
listed other possible attributes about themselves. The Opportunity is that WOB
could find out other beliefs the competitors have of themselves and the industry.
The Threat is that they only know/have listed one belief about itself and the
industry and they could know more about them.
Q15 Outside of your business hours, how many extra hours a week do you
work for the business?
Possible assumption could be: Yes, I spend more than 10 hours a week outside

Q16 If you do outside of business hours work, what sort of work do you do
for the business outside of business hours?
Possible assumption could be: I take care of special bike orders, disclaimer
problems, return policies, vacation leave, paid personal leave or unpaid leave
of absence. Any type of work that is not addressed during the day that must
be addressed.
Sixteenth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that they are taking care of
business outside of business hours, which means they will be able to keep on top
of any work they do not complete in the work day. The Weakness is they are not
keeping on top of their day to day work, which means they havent got the
necessary amount of employees. The Opportunity here for WOBs so they do
not need to spend extra time after hours, if they want to, is to employ an accounts
person part-time so they can cover the extra work. The Threat is they may not be
making enough money to cover the wage of the accounts person and the
company may lose money.
Q18 Do you receive support for your business from your family?
Possible assumption could be: Yes, they assist the company by working in the
shop when a person has not been available to work.
Eighteenth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that the family support the
business. The Weakness is that it had the potential of cutting into the family life,
which they could then become unsupportive. The Opportunity is that it can
become a very successful business if WOBs can maintain the family support,
while still putting in the necessary effort to gain the returns it is seeking. The
Threat is that opposing companies could be in the same position and they learn
to manage the support from their family as well as applying the necessary effort
to the company before WOBs, which means they are behind the rest of the large
organisations.
Q19 How important is the support of your family when running the
business?
Possible assumption could be: It is very important, as they support me through
the good and bad times.
Nineteenth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is that WOBs see the value from
receiving support from their family. The Weakness is they dont mention how
valuable it is from getting support from work colleagues. The Opportunity is they
can try and seek support also from their work colleagues as they also help to run
the business to. The Threat is that by not seeking help from outside sources the
company may not be able to run at its fully capacity.
Twentieth SWOT Analysis: The Strength is the company sees the value in
good staff. The Weakness is they do not do anything special to keep the
employee. The Opportunity for WOBs is to offer their good staff some incentive
which may encourage the employees to stay at the job. The Threat is that the
employee may stay and then not long after still leave and the company would
have lost money by trying to just delay the inevitable.
