Preliminary Remarks
The texts of these notebooks are taken from handwritings of the collections of London,
Turin, Moscow and Cairo. The originals were not produced by me, as the Autograph was
carried out after the publications and photographs. Regarding this inconvenience, the
only due possibility was to be able to use the collations of the especially serviceable
Berlin dictionary. For this like also, for valuable pieces of advice in the selection of the
texts is due to go to the following gentlemen. My more special thanks goes to the
governing advice of Prof. Erman and Prof. Sethe.
