Communication of Student Learning. Assessed Curriculum,

Evaluation, and Reporting. Summative Assessments and
Student Achievement.

Veracross is the platform for teachers to indicate daily

attendance, facilitate document sharing, access student
demographic information and calendar events, and, most
importantly, document student assessments. Additionally,
Veracross allows teachers to provide comments and
evaluative feedback to students and families.
Veracross is a tool to help us communicate with students
and families and to keep records of assessments,
progress and achievement - so that evaluation of student
learning is continuous and transparent.
Veracross provides teachers with the opportunity to share
resources with students.

Teachers will indicate assessments via Veracross.

Assessments must be continuous and provide
comprehensive evidence to support the final evaluation,
using a range of assessment tasks and types. Teachers
attach rubrics and tasks through grade book, along with any
necessary resources through their libraries.
Minimum one-week notification for students for all
assessments leading to evaluation. Homework, a non
evaluated assessment, may be assigned on a daily basis.
Teachers use Veracross to report on assessments being
handed in or not, as well as on achievement levels for
summative assessment tasks.
Teachers use Veracross to communicate to students and
families when assessments are set and due dates.

Within the MYP, teachers will ensure that, for each student,
they make several judgments against each criterion per
semester, while within the DP, teachers provide a variety
of assessments reflecting specific categories and
weightings (DP) as established by departments.
Specific Assessment Calendars per grade level (MYP and
DP), along with grade level Homework Calendars allow
teachers to determine the type and amount being assigned,
so as to plan accordingly.
For homework, teachers of Grades 6 to 8 will indicate
homework through their Veracross Gradebook; for High
School students, grades 9 to 12, teachers will indicate
homework via the teachers class Website and
Announcement section of Veracross, and/or through in-class
announcements. See Homework Policy for further details
concerning the nature and purpose of homework.
