What can government do about violence

among students?
We often hear about violence among students . Violence
among students usually happen between junior and high school
students. Violence among students have become serious problem
in recent decades. According to Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia
(KPAI), violence among students which reported to the police
increased 20% in 2013. School, parents, and also government have
tried to overcome and prevent this problem. However government
has important role to prvent this matter. By banning tv programs,
giving morale education to students, and setting stricter rules are
what government can do to prevent violence among junior and high
school students in Indonesia.
By banning tv program which give bad example to students is
one of the effective ways to prevent this matter. Technologies have
become important in our daily life. All of us seems cant be
separated with gadgets and stuff including students. One of the
technologies that has been improving is television. Students usually
watch tv and dont realise that the shows they watch arent suitable
for their ages. Without parental guidance, they tend to copy some
violance contained in the shows which can led to violance action. To
prevent violence among students, government has to banning tv
programs

which

contain

violence.

If

the

tv

stations

keep

broadcasting inappropriate shows for students, government has to

give them warning or government can give the tv stations fine .

Giving morale education to students is also essential steps.

First, government has to go to schools to give socialization. By
socializing what is violence, the negative effect that we can get and
others, it can make students more understand about violence
among students and choose to avoid it. And they can also share it
to their friends who involved

in violence among studens.

Government can also use public service announcements (PSA) and

social medias as the tools to give socialization. This can be effective
because most of students watch tv and use social medias these
days. To make the students take this seriously, government has to
make the public service annoncement and advertisements more
interesting. For example, they can use public figure or celebrity as
the model to warn the students about violence among students.
Because idols usually have big influences to teenage life. And the

among students not only in school but also in the house.

Government must demand the schools that they have to make the
rules more threatening. Because the more stricter rules that the
school have the more likely students obey the rules. For example,
school should give punishment like suspension or even drop out
from school. The other option is school can give counseling for all
students involved, not only the one who do the violence but also
the victims.
In conclusion, to prevent and overcome violence among
students, all the institution should cooperate together. Not only the
