HEALTH AND SANITARY VIOLATIONS

After the majority of licensed womens clinics went between one and two decades without health and sanitary
inspections, the Illinois Department of Public Health conducted a sanitary inspection in each of the licensed womens
clinics between 2011 and 2014. Approximately 193 health and sanitary and life code violations were cited in thirteen
of the fourteen licensed womens clinics. The following violations were taken directly from the Illinois Department of
Public Healths sanitary inspection reports.13

The Recovery Room technician


(E#1) was observed on 9/6/11
at approximately 9:20 am,
retrieving a paper towel from a
garbage receptacle and using
the same paper towel to cover
a tray that would serve food
items to patients. 14

The suction machine in OR #1 contained clear water

containing Motrin and 10 medications cups containing


Tylenol contained crumbs. 15

#2 and #3 contained shoes stored

Four (4) of 16 gynecological cannulas
