The accident isn't really the trouble as with most of us that have had a few and get a sudden shock we seem
to be that little bit relaxed so the episode isn't as bad as it seems, until the wounds get that lovely tropical
weather to hinder the healing process. HHHMMMMMMMM nothing beats the look or smell for that
matter of rotting festering flesh after it has been wounded in the tropics for a week or so. I remember old
mate Squirt almost loosing his foot after a minor bingle with a pot hole in the rain and it wasn't very nice at
all. My advice is simple, if you arent a confident rider its probably best you get on the back with someone
who is or buy a car and take that home after you have a skin full and its raining. You could also try taking a
taxi should you have had to many. At any rate I trust that you all take care while on the bike over the wet
season and set a good example for the children.

BALI THE RIGHT WAY

G'day again punters and welcome to the weekly for another run.
My, my hasn't there been a few drops of rain over the last week, and
not before time. The island was about as parched as it has ever been
in many years and as much as a pain in the rear as it is, its great to sit
and watch the heavy downpours wash the cigarette butts away
from the many months dry season. I think most of the publicans rub
their hands together with glee when the rain starts in the early

evening, due to the many punters getting caught as they are just
about to leave and head home for an early one, BOOM down comes the rain and you end up staying for
those few more before you tackle the wet streets on the bike getting home. Sometimes you find after one
more beer, then one more beer, then one more beer on the bike sometimes becomes a challenge as the wet
roads take on the appearance of an almost perfect road. The truth of the matter is that the road is still the
cracked up potholed unkept crappy tarmac that it was when there was no rain and for some
underdeveloped riders this is where the trouble begins. A few too many and the throttle gets a bit heavier
and WAMMO the front wheel hits a hole and the bike is throwing the rider to the ground.

about as much of a surprise as anyone could not wish for, he was put under the surgeons knife for the refit

Bali's Department of Social

Services have set aside 50 tons of
rice stocks to assist Bali families
suffering natural disasters during
the coming rainy season.
Quoted by the State News
Agency Antara, the head of Social
Services for the Province of Bali,
Nyoman Wenten, said on Friday,
December 5, 2014, In addition to
setting aside rice stocks, we have
also laid in a stock of tents and
special teams to be deployed in the
event of a natural disaster.
For emergency stocks of rice
and other supplies to be released, a
proposal or request must first be

submitted by the Department

of Social Services in the regency or
metropolitan area needing
assistance detailing the degree of
need and the number of people at
risk.
Wenten said that based on the
experience of past years, the
regencies of Buleleng and
Karangasem are the areas that are
most often affected by natural
disasters during the rainy season,

typically in the form of floods

and landslides. Conversely, these
areas also tend to suffer the worst
effects of drought during the dry
season.
For this reason, we hope the
people will exercise caution,
especially those who live on
mountainsides, monitoring the
situation during the rainy season.
The people cannot be complacent if
there are any indications of a
disaster. The dangers of nature
cannot be predicted and building
can be swept away without notice by
landslides, warned Wenten.
Wenten said additional
emergency stocks of rice have also
been laid in by Regents and Mayors
amounting to 100 tons and 200 tons
on standby from the Governor.

Asparagus Crops
Grown in Bali
Earning a Domestic
and Export Market
While much is made
of the diminishing role of
farmers and agriculture in
Balinese society, there's a
success story of modern
day farming in Bali to be
found in the village of
Plaga in North Badung.
The Regency of Badung is
targeting for 50 hectare of
farmland to be dedicated
to the propagation of asparagus
to meet the demand for this cash
crop by HOTELS and restaurants
in Bali, together with a growing
export MARKET.
46 hectares worked by 8
separate farming groups are now
producing asparagus stalks
declared by experts from West
Java's Institut Teknologi Bandung

(ITB) as the finest of its kind

in all of Asia.
The farming project is
supported by an agricultural
expert from Taiwan sponsored by
the International Cooperation and
Development FUND(ICDF) who
have determined the soil and
climate conditions at Plaga are
ideally suited to growing the crop

that can be sold for

between Rp. 35,000 to
Rp. 50,000 (US$3 US$4)
per kilogram.
This translates into a
daily income for individual
farmers of Rp. 400,000
(US$33) and a monthly
income of Rp. 12 million
(US$1,000).
A farming plot of 30
are (3,000 square feet)
can provide an income of
Rp. 30 million (US$2,500).
This permits farmers to
recoup their initial
investment within one or two
years.
Local farmers need 3
months for each cycle of the
asparagus crop that is invariably
snapped up by eager hotels and
restaurants both in Bali and
abroad.

Drinking a glass of wine is the same as 3 shots of vodka

Enjoying a glass of wine after work
does the same harm as drinking
three shots of vodka, the head of
Public Health England has warned as
he said alcohol was becoming the
"silent killer" of working age Britons.
Duncan Selbie said that deaths
from liver disease of working age people
have increased by 500 per cent since the
1970s because many arrive home, "pour
a glass and have no idea how much they
are drinking".
MPs say that people are safer
enjoying an alcoholic drink in their local
pub as measures are controlled rather
than buying large quantities of wine at
"rock bottom prices" in supermarkets
and drinking in a "non-sociable
atmosphere away from people's
communities".
They also warn that drinking at
home is problematic among the middle
classes who have developed the habit of
pouring a large glass of wine or two at
the end of the day.
Writing in his weekly briefing to
staff Mr Selbie said liver disease is now
the third biggest killer of working age
adults "And it is a silent killer, with 75 per
cent of people with cirrhosis only being
diagnosed once they are admitted to
hospital."
He added that the illness is
"largely preventable" but that one of the
biggest risk factors, alcohol, was difficult
to control. He wrote: "For example, a
large glass of wine is like three shots of
vodka, so it is very easy for people to
pour a glass and have no idea how much
they are drinking."
Last week the Lancet commission
recommended that Liver scans should
be offered by GPs as it said middle-class
drinking is turning Britain into the capital
of Europe for alcohol-related disease.
Senior doctors have said too
many people were treating alcohol

10

dependence as a lifestyle
choice, like Armani jeans and that
Britain is now the only country apart from
Finland in Western Europe in which
prevalence of liver disease is increasing.
Greg Mulholland, the Liberal
Democrat MP and chair of the All
Parliamentary Save the Pub Group, said
that if people enjoyed a drink in the
"social atmosphere" of the pub rather
than behind closed doors it was easier
for them to keep track of their drinking.

He said: "The evidence clearly

shows that where measures are
controlled, and where there is a landlord
who has a legal responsibility not to
serve people who have had too much to
drink, that it is clearly is a much better
place for people to enjoy alcohol.
"What the Government needs to
do now is stop so many pubs being
turned into supermarkets where,
ironically, alcohol is then sold at rock
bottom prices in an unsupervised way
and is then drunk in a non-sociable
atmosphere away from people's
communities."
Tracey Crouch, the former chair
of the All Parliamentary Alcohol Misuse
Group, and a Conservative MP, said:
"The middle class professional is coming
home of an evening and pouring
themselves a glass of wine with dinner,
and then possibly another after that,
without realizing that over the course of a
week it can tot up to more than what is

medically advised.
"I'm really pleased that Public
Health England has raised this, because
raising awareness of this is not about
telling people they cannot drink, it is
about getting people to understand the
drinking habits they have, and it does
become a habit, it becomes a habitual
part of your evening rather than some
sort of special occasion when people
enjoy a glass of wine.
"People will see it is a very
different thing pouring a glass of wine to
pouring a three measure vodka, but this
is why it's important to have calorific
content on the labels - you wouldn't pour
three shots of vodka but you also
wouldn't sit down and eat six doughnuts
either - but you tend to pour yourself a
large measure of wine not a small glass.
"If you look at liver disease maps
there is a perception that it is all going to
be deprived areas but actually you see a
significant increase in the number of
people who are more affluent who are
getting liver disease."
Baroness Hayter, the Labour
peer, said "Wine is stronger, and the
ordinary wines you buy, we just don't
look at how strong it is - we assume all
wine is the same per cent and it isn't it
can vary enormously... glasses are
getting bigger and it is actually quite
serious. It sounds silly but it means you
can suddenly be drinking two units
instead of one."
Fiona Bruce, the Conservative
MP, said: "This is an issue we need to
take much more seriously, and revise
our view of the binge drinker as a
teenager out late at night.
"Increasingly too high levels of
alcohol consumption are occurring in the
home by older age groups and we all
have a responsibility to challenge and
help address this."

Ford quits V8 Supercars at end of 2015

16

Prodrive Racing (Australia)

(PRA) has raced under the guise of
Ford Performance Racing since the
team's inception in 2003, acting as
Ford Australia's primary
manufacturer team throughout this
period.
PRA Chief Executive Officer,
Tim Edwards responded to Ford
Australia's decision.
Ford Australia's decision to
not extend its commercial
relationship with our team beyond
the end of next season is extremely
disappointing for our large and loyal
fan base, but as a business this
decision now allows us to
concentrate on our long-term

future, Mr Edwards said.

We have enjoyed a highlysuccessful relationship with Ford
Australia with just shy of 50 race
wins, 150 podiums and the last two
Bathurst 1000 crowns together.
This on track success, along
with the engineering and
commercial strength that underpins
our racing activities, provides us
with a very viable business and a
strong platform for our future in the
sport.
We will run the new FG X
Falcon next season as planned with
support from Ford, and we'll
possibly campaign the car in 2016
ahead of the major regulation
changes coming from 2017.
Now that we know where we
stand we can further develop other
opportunities. We have a range of

options, some existing and

some that were awaiting this
decision, so we can now begin to
explore these further.
Whatever happens, I know
our loyal fans will support our team
whatever direction we take.
Team owner Rod Nash also
expressed his opinion.
When [fellow co-owner)
Rusty French and I purchased the
team two years ago we did so
because we saw a strong and
diverse business, filled with vibrant
people and all with a desire to
succeed, Mr Nash said.
That hasn't changed today
and nor will it based on the decision
of one of our
commercial partners.
We have a broad
revenue base and this
decision does not
weaken the viability of
our business.
Our team of
people have been
working tirelessly, with
support from V8
Supercars, to ensure
a blue presence in our
sport so while we don't
agree with today's
decision, we have no
choice but to accept it.
While I sympathise with the
legions of Ford fans, they are also
fans of our team and our drivers, so
whatever direction we take we firmly
believe that support will continue.
Our immediate focus is of
course this week and finishing off
the season strongly in Sydney. We
want to secure Mark second in the
points and try and top off Chaz's
Bathurst-winning year with more
success.
Once we're done in Sydney
we can begin working on the future
and exploring our range of
opportunities.
The team will look to add to its
Bathurst triumph and win tally this
weekend at the season-ending
Sydney 500 at Sydney Olympic
Park.

IT'S official: Ford is pulling out

As we continue to transform

This afternoon, we will

Performance Racing and Team
Penske DJR, the only two V8
Supercars teams currently racing
Ford Falcons, will forge into next
season with brand new FG X-model
cars, and the former said they may
continue to race the new Falcon into
the 2016 season.
With a new regulation
package planned for the 2017
season, any teams wishing to

Ford Australia.
The full statement from Ford
Performance Racing:
Leading V8 Supercars team
Prodrive Racing (Australia) has

from 2016 the car manufacturer will

Mental battle, but Johnson will bounce

The 33 year old has struck plenty of

batsmen in his career, earlier this year knocking out
for Australia.
Clarke has recovered from a recurring left
hamstrung injury and will captain the side on Tuesday,
with Peter Siddle edging Josh Hazlewood to claim the
final pace berth in the XI.Shaun Marsh, who was
called into the squad as cover for Clarke, will return to
Perth today and play in the
Sheffield Shield for Western
Australia against Victoria
starting on Tuesday.
It will be a highly emotional
affair in Adelaide, with Australia
playing their first game since
Phillip Hughes died after being
felled by a bouncer.Hughes has
been named 13th man and will
be the subject of a range of
tributes at Adelaide Oval.
Apprehension clouded
Australia's training session on
Friday, as they wrapped their minds around hooking
short balls and sending down bumpers two days after
Hughes' funeral.Confidence returned over the
weekend, but mourning in the middle of Adelaide Oval
will be a long way removed from the nets."The first
spell might be the most difficult," Johnson said,
conducting the captain's pre match press conference
in place of grief stricken Clarke.
"Then we might just get back into the game a bit

aggressive," he said."If that is
bowling the short ball like we

we will do. "The last 18

Johnson admitted he
found it "very difficult" batting

we've trained in a long while."
Johnson met Corporal Ben Roberts Smith, a

was at the crossroads. The wisdom Roberts Smith
passed on will be on Johnson's mind at the top of his
mark on Tuesday."You can't let emotions get in the

switched on," he said."I know our guys will be."

Robbie Lawler upsets Johny Hendricks at UFC 181

Robbie Lawler upset
champion Johny
Hendricks in Las Vegas
on Saturday night to win
the welterweight title at
UFC 181.Almost nine
months after their
first meeting,
Lawler was given
the nod via a split
decision after
another absorbing
clash.
For Lawler it was
the culmination of a 12
year journey with the
organization.
This has been an
amazing journey, he
said. There have been a
lot of guys behind me. This
wasn't easy. I thought I needed
to get in his face and force him to
fight. That's what my corner told
me to do. That's how we fight in
UFC. It's how you fight
championship fights.
Lawler had the better of the
opening round, using his knees

to good effect but was taken

down in the second session.The
challenger struggled to maintain
the pace he had set from the first
claxon with Hendricks looking
stronger in round three.But he
seemed to tire, forcing referee
Herb Dean to restart the action

several times.Lawler continued

to press, landing a succession of
blows to the body in the
penultimate stanza.
And it was he who finished
the fight in the ascendancy, doing
enough to earn the
decision.Hendricks simply left
the Octagon without comment.

In the co main event,

Anthony Pettis defended his
lightweight title after submitting
No 1 contender Gilbert Melendez
in the second round. It is the first
time Melendez, a former
Strikeforce champion, has been
stopped.
I just showed the
message right there,
Pettis said. The No 1
guy in the world and I
finished him in two
rounds. I give big ups
to Gilbert. I've been
watching him a long
time. When I was a kid,
I was watching him. But
now I'm here.
M e l e n d e z
enjoyed his successes
in the first round,
landing several blows
and taking Pettis down. He was
fast, striking tight in the pocket,
Melendez said. I was trying to
load up on that punch and he
popped in that jab. I wanted to
stay in his face and bang it out,
and try to test his chin as much as
possible. He's good and quick.

Bolivia Closes All McDonald's Restaurants

After 14 years of presence in the country, and
despite all the existing campaigns and
having a network, the chain was forced to
close the eight restaurants that remained
open in the three main cities: La Paz,
Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
It is a question of the first Latin-American
country that will remain without any McDonald's, and
the first country in the world where the company has
to close because it persists in having their numbers
in the red for over a decade.
The impact for the creative and marketing managers
has been so strong that a documentary was filmed
under the title Why McDonald's went broke in
Bolivia, where they try to somehow explain the
reasons that led Bolivians to still prefer pies to
hamburgers.
Cultural rejection
The documentary includes interviews with
cooks, sociologists, nutritionists, educators,
historians and more, where there is a general
agreement the rejection is neither to the hamburgers
nor to their taste. The rejection is in the minds and
mentality of Bolivians. Everything indicates that fast
food is literally the opposite of a Bolivian's

conception of how to prepare a meal.

In Bolivia, the food to be good requires, in
addition to taste, care, and hygiene, a lot of
preparation time. This is how a consumer values the
quality of what goes into the stomach, also by the
amount of time it took to make the meal. Fast food is
not for these people, the Americans concluded.

Big 15lb baby may be new NZ record

A strapping newborn baby boy
is understood to have set a
New Zealand record, weighing
in at a whopping 6.85kg (15lb

A full-term Kiwi baby
usually weighs between 3.2kg
and 3.5kg, putting this Hamilton
infant at double the size of the
average newborn, and weighing
almost the same as an average
4-month-old.
The baby was born at Waikato

Caesarean section, and is now at
home with his family.
The child's parents did not want
to comment, but the baby is the
mother's third child. The mother's
Hamilton midwife did not return
messages, but welcomed the baby
boy on her Facebook page last week,
saying it "has to be a New Zealand

Waikato District Health Board

Cheer as Porta
Loo Blasts Off

Mission accomplished! A group of

rocket enthusiasts launched a
porta loo into the sky recently in
southwestern Michigan. It made an
arc and almost landed on a
spectator's pickup truck, 2,000 feet
away.
A group of Michiana Rocketry club
members planned the project for
more than two years. The club is
trying to increase awareness of
rocketry as a hobby and prove it's
possible to turn a porta loo into a
rocket and launch it successfully.
The local newspaper says liftoff
occurred in a soybean field near

About 30 people worked on the
rocket, from engineers to sales
people who lined up sponsors.
Rocket enthusiast Bob Bycraft
says it was carefully planned. He
says it wasn't "barnyard

Galungan is a Balinese holiday that

occurs every 210 days and lasts for 10 days.
Galungan means "When the Dharma is
winning." During this holiday the Balinese gods
visit the Earth.
Galungan Day is the climax of the
Galungan celebrations. Throughout the day
the local temples are crowded with people
coming and going, bringing the offerings that
have been prepared since Penyekeban.
Occurring once in every 210 days in the
pawukon (Balinese cycle of days), Galungan
marks the beginning of the most important
recurring religious ceremony that is celebrated
by all Balinese. During the Galungan period the
deified ancestors of the family descend to their
former homes. They must be suitably
entertained and welcomed, and prayers and
offerings must be made for them. Those
families who have ancestors that have not yet
been cremated, but are still buried in the village
cemetery, must make offerings at the graves.

Although Galungan falls on a

Wednesday, most Balinese will begin their
Galungan 'holiday' the day before, where the
family is seen to be busily preparing offerings
and cooking for the next day. While the women
of the household have been busy for days
before creating beautifully woven 'banten'
(offerings made from young coconut fronds),
the men of our village usually wake up well
before dawn to join with their neighbours to
slaughter a pig unlucky enough to be chosen to
help celebrate this occasion. Then the finely
diced pork is mashed to a pulp with a grinding
stone, and moulded onto sate sticks of bamboo.
Delicate combinations of various vegetables,
herbs and spices are also prepared by the men
to make up a selection of 'lawar' dishes. While
much of this cooking is for use in the offerings to
be made at the family temple, by mid-morning,
once all the cooking is done, it is time for the first
of a series of satisfying feasts from what has
been prepared. While the women continue to
be kept busy with the preparations of the many
offerings to be made at the family temple on the
day of Galungan, the men also have another job
to do this day, once the cooking is finished. A
long bamboo pole, or 'penjor', is made to
decorate the entrance to the family compound.
By late Tuesday afternoon all over Bali the
visitor can see these decorative poles creating
a very festive atmosphere in the street.

Though action and adventure may call to you, Jupiter's

retrograde phase encourages you to slow down and opt for
inner journeys that encourage greater self-knowledge. The
emphasis shifts with a focus on exploring those beliefs that
affect your creativity and experience of romance. You may
feel a desire to be free of rules and regulations, and you
might consider working for yourself as opposed to a
company or corporation. Don't act impulsively, though. Take
it one step at a time.
You'll be eager to explore ideas for earning more money, and
you may be tempted to invest in classes with this aim in
mind. Information is key this week, and accessing the
knowledge you need could prove a turning point. At home,
Jupiter's retrograde phase may slow down your plans for
your house or family. Seeds planted may take longer to
come to fruition. Later, a potent transit suggests you may be
limited by outdated beliefs. It's time to replace them.
Partnerships and relationships flourish this week as your
involvement with others expands. You can expect a lot of
encouragement, but try not to promise more than you can
deliver. Later, the cosmos encourages you to reflect on deep
soul bonds and committed relationships and how much
you're willing to share. Key could be finding the balance
between keeping things lighthearted and desiring security
and commitment. However, social delights await you over
the weekend, with the potential for a love adventure.
There are advantages to be gained from stepping outside of
your comfort zone this week. Say yes to new people, places,
and experiences, particularly if you're looking for a new job
or hoping to set up a business for yourself. Meanwhile,
Jupiter's retrograde phase encourages you to ponder the
spiritual source of your supply. Doing so could be a
revelation. Finally, a revolutionary transit encourages you to
take your goals and dreams seriously. Don't let personal
Creative and romantic opportunities seem well starred,
especially early in the week. Yet as Jupiter rewinds in your
sign, you may find certain associations or projects a bit too
superficial. It's time to direct your energy to activities and
people who have depth and inspire you. Despite this, your
social life continues to flourish, as do romantic options. Big
questions circle around in your head as you may notice a
desire to escape from too much responsibility, but at what
cost?
Focus on home affairs, plans, and projects that need to get
sorted before the holiday week. You may be the one organizing
get-togethers, especially as people seem to enjoy chilling out at
your place. Give yourself a chance for some alone time, as this is
when inspiration could strike, bringing solutions to problems and
creative ideas. Over the weekend you might be faced with a
dilemma, as a potent transit encourages you to be honest about
your feelings rather than hold back.

Your outlook is upbeat and expectant, with a desire to reach

out and connect. As the festive season gets underway it's time
to send cards and messages to those who are dear to your
heart, which you'll enjoy. Jupiter turns retrograde in your social
sector, so you may prefer your own company and the chance
to reflect at times. Still, there will be enough get-togethers to
keep you occupied. Later, ask yourself if you're resisting an
idea whose time has come.

Spend time at home where you can think up ambitious plans

and share your ideas with family and friends. You might want
to invest in gadgets and other devices that make life easier.
Jupiter turns retrograde in your career sector on Monday, so
a goal or career move could take longer to materialize. This
might not be a bad thing, encouraging you to reflect on
what's best for you. Finally, you might notice how your
thoughts affect your well-being for better or worse.

Your responsibilities to others may seem to restrict your

freedom and dampen your enthusiasm. If real-life demands
weigh you down, perhaps you'll escape through travel or
other adventures. As Jupiter turns retrograde in Leo, you
may prefer to acquire more knowledge. Regular meditation
and reflection over the weeks ahead can encourage you to
review and change outdated beliefs. Avoid impulsive moves
over the weekend that might affect your financial security,
even if you're tempted to take a gamble.
You may want to help out with charity work or volunteer your
time in other ways. A focus on your spiritual sector encourages
you to be generous, as by giving you will receive. Meanwhile,
Venus hikes into your sign on Wednesday, boosting your
confidence and making you an attractive option. Later, you
may notice a conflict between putting yourself and your own
thoughts and feelings first versus doing your duty and making
sure you fulfill your responsibilities. You may need to strike a
balance.

Your social life is busy, but you aren't complaining! With

festive get-togethers keeping you busy, you're in your
element. Jupiter turns retrograde in your relationship sector
on Monday, so interactions could slow. For instance, a
business partnership may see you both acting more
independently for a while and learning much as a result. If
you're in a long-term relationship, you may relish more alone
time. Finally, the weekend may set you thinking about what's
holding you back from being successful.
A focus on Sagittarius and your career sector makes this a good
time to get your message out to the world, and to be bold and
forthright about doing so. When it comes to everyday matters or
lifestyle issues, it might be time to journey within to uncover and
release anything blocking success. Your social life picks up
midweek, with romance looking likelier. Finally, if a friend
disapproves of your behavior, you might wonder why you hang
out with him or her.

TUNED IN

Music page

The following is a myth busting info page covering different songs

or bands each week chosen by one of our many loyal readers,
Please EnjoyFoo Fighters.

Foo Fighters
The Foo Fighters are an American rock band, formed in
Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave
Grohl as a one man project following the death of Kurt
Cobain and the resulting dissolution of his previous band.
The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial
phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in
World War II, which were known collectively as foo
fighters.
Prior to the release of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut album Foo
Fighters, which featured Grohl as the only official
member, Grohl recruited bassist Nate Mendel and
drummer William Goldsmith, both formerly of Sunny
Day Real Estate, as well as fellow Nirvana touring
bandmate Pat Smear as guitarist to complete the lineup.
The band began with performances in Portland, Oregon.
Goldsmith quit during the recording of the group's second
album, The Colour and the Shape (1997), when most of
the drum parts were re recorded by Grohl himself. Smear's
departure followed soon afterward.
They were replaced by Taylor Hawkins and Franz Stahl,
respectively, although Stahl was fired before the recording
of the group's third album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose
(1999). The band briefly continued as a trio until Chris
Shiflett joined as the band's lead guitarist after the
completion of There Is Nothing Left to Lose. The band
released its fourth album, One by One, in 2002. The group
followed that release with the two disc In Your Honor
(2005), which was split between acoustic songs and
heavier material. Foo Fighters released its sixth album,
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, in 2007. In 2010, it
was confirmed that Smear had officially rejoined the band
after touring with Foo Fighters as an unofficial member

between 2006 and 2009.

Over the course of the band's career, four of its albums
have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. The
band's seventh studio album, Wasting Light, produced by
Butch Vig was released in 2011, in which Smear returned
as a full member. As of May 2014, the band's seven albums
have sold a combined 11.1 million copies, according to
Nielsen Sound Scan. The band's eighth studio album,
Sonic Highways, and their second recorded with Butch
Vig, was released in November 2014.
I've got another confession to make....I'm your fool
Everyone's got their chains to break......Holdin' you
Were you born to resist, or be abused?
Is someone getting the best
The best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best
The best, the best, the best of you?
(Chorus)
Or are you gone and onto someone new?
I needed somewhere to hang my head
Without your noose....You gave me something that I didn't have
But had no use....I was too weak to give in
Too strong to lose
My heart is under arrest again
But I'll break loose
My head is giving me life or death
But I can't choose
I swear I'll never give in....I refuse
(Chorus)
Has someone taken your faith?
It's real, the pain you feel
You trust, you must confess
Is someone getting the best
The best, the best, the best of you?
Has someone taken your faith?
It's real, the pain you feel
The life, the love...You'd die to heal
The hope that starts...The broken hearts
You trust, you must confess
(Chorus)
I've got another confession my friend
I'm no fool
I'm getting tired of starting again
Somewhere new
Were you born to resist, or be abused?
I swear I'll never give in, I refuse
(Chorus)
Has someone taken your faith?
It's real, the pain you feel
You trust, you must confess
Is someone getting the best
The best, the best, the best of you?

A little known Christmas story, This isn't something

you can share with your children until they are quite
older, even then, one has to ponder the damage the
story might cause.

little Angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel

said very cheerfully, ''Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this
a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where
would you like me to stick it?'' And so began the
tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Ujung, Amlapura

"When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves

did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and
Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to
visit, which stressed Santa even more. When he went
to harness the Reindeer, he found that three of them
were about to give birth and two others had jumped
the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the
floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and
all the toys were scattered. Frustrated, Santa went in
the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum.
When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the
elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor.
In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider
jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all
over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and
found the Mice had eaten all the straw off the end of
the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa
marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a

Defying Court Order Prohibiting Loud Sex

A woman who was
ordered by a British
court to be quiet
during coitus is
making her point
loud and clear. She
refuses to stop
screaming during
sex.
C a r o l i n e
Cartwright, 53, of
Sunderland, England
is apparently so noisy
with her husband of 38
years, that a British judge recently
ordered her to keep it down
because neighbors complained.
The order, known as an Anti Social
Behavior Order (ASBO), banned
Cartwright from shouting,
screaming or vocalizing when
getting down and dirty for a 4 year
period.
Now she is speaking out
about her carnal controversy. On
Wednesday, she discussed her
lusty legal problems on ASBO on a
TV special on a British TV network.

46

It's not as if I'm having sex

and think Oh, I'm making too much
noise. I better be quiet, she said in
the special.
The ASBO was issued after
police came to the Cartwright
home more than 30 times to
silence the passionate couple.
Cartwright also breached a noise
abatement order five times, and
was given suspended jail terms of
eight weeks and 12 weeks for
violating the ASBO. The problem
was exacerbated when the

Cartwright's
bought a bed with
an iron headboard
that banged
against the wall.
"I did not
understand why
people asked me to
be quiet because to
me it is normal. I
didn't understand
where they were
coming from," she
told a judge during
a
c o u r t
appearance. "I have tried to
minimize the situation by being
intimate in the morning and not at
night to avoid disturbing sleeping
neighbors.
With the ASBO lifted,
Cartwright will keep doing what
comes naturally with her husband.
"As far as I'm concerned, that's
what you should be doing. Just
relax. Go with the flow," she said.
She's made one concession to the
neighbors, a less noisy wooden
bed.
