New home registrations are on the rise

NEW home registrations across
the UK remain ahead of last years
figures, with the latest rolling
quarter revealing an 8 per cent increase on the same period in 2013,
according to new figures released
by the National House Building
Council (NHBC).

private sector remain up on last
year for the rolling quarter (29,812
in 2014; 25,079 in 2013) but the public sector is struggling to match
the numbers registered 12 months
ago (7,410 in 2014; 9,277 in 2013).
The drop in the number of affordable homes being registered
also resulted in November falling
slightly below overall levels for
the same month last year (10,824
in 2014 - 8,764 private; 2,060 public
compared to 11,409 in 2013 8,010
private; 3,399 public).
