5 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
5.1 General
The drillfloor and substructure shall support the hook load and setback load. It shall also provide
skidding in all four directions and house the BOP stack.

5.2 Products/Services

The system should consist of the following main items:
Drillfloor structure incl.:

Drillers cabin.
Set back area.
Work winches.
Manrider winches.
Tong posts.
Wind walls.

Substructure incl.:

BOP crane/trolley.
X-mas tree crane/trolley.
Test stumps for BOP and X-mas tree.
Skidding system.
Working winches.
Emergency hang off system for conductor.

NOTE:
The drillfloor and substructure may accommodate other items/system such as drawworks, BOP
control system, mud treatment system, etc. These items/systems are described in other data sheet.

5.5 Regularity
5.6 Process/Ambient Conditions
North Sea environmental conditions shall apply.

5.7 Operational Requirements


The drillfloor shall be designed for a safe and efficient drilling operation. The following must be
paid attention to:

It shall be possible to build stands in a safe and efficient manner while drilling.
It shall be possible to install a remote operated pipehandling system on the drillfloor.
The drillfloor shall be designed to withstand the impact from a falling 9 1/2" drillcollar stand
from a height of 1,5m.
A heavy tool store shall be provided. Efficient and safe handling of tools between the tool
store and the drillfloor shall be paid attention to.
The layout of the drillers cabin shall ensure full operational control and view from the
drillers position to the various parts of the drilling area. The drillers cabin shall have an
ergonomic lay-out and shall be equipped with laminated glass, wiper/cleaner facilities,
defroster and heater. The roof shall have strengthening/protection against falling objects.
The drillfloor shall be designed to prevent fluids from entering onto lower decks.
The drill floor work area shall be covered with a non-skid material.
The drillfloor shall be equipped with min. two work winches and two manrider winches.
The winches shall cover the entire drillfloor area. There shall be free sight from the winch
operator's place to the work area covered by the winch.
The setback area shall be covered with a material that does not damage the tool joints.
The drillfloor design shall allow for conductor installation.

The drilling substructures shall be designed for safe and efficient skidding operations and handling
of BOP and X-mas trees. The following must be paid attention to:

The cranes/trolleys shall transport the BOP and X-mas tree to separate storage positions
where they can be reached by the platform crane.
The skidding system shall be designed for skidding with full set back.
Hose and cable links between the lower skidding structure and the stationary modules shall
be designed to cover six (6) well slot rows, or 12,5m without disconnecting.
Hose and cable links between the two skidding structures shall be designed to cover four (4)
well slot rows, or 7,5m without disconnecting.
