Introduction
TATU AR - Reversible Disc Plow provides efficient handling ways,
which combined with the technical improvements of its construction,
result in higher yield in soil preparation.
The reverse system is quite simple, practical and efficient to lock
the disc set. The easy-access adjustments simplify operations with
the disc plow.
AR features excellent performance in soil preparation, achieving
level plowing, or building regular or narrow-base terraces.
The tail wheel features pressure and angle adjustment so to adapt
to the type of soil, providing full stability to the assembly. The disc
hubs and the tail wheel are provided with tapered roller bearings.
The disc blades, manufactured with the most severe standards,
are highly resistant to wear and tear, and impacts.
This instruction manual includes the required information for the
proper performance of your disc plow. The disc plow operator
should read the contents of this manual thoroughly and carefully
before operating the equipment and should make sure to follow
the safety guidelines.
In order to clear any other points, or in the event of any technical
problem that may arise during your work, please contact your Dealer,
that, in alliance with our own Technical Assistance Department, are
able to assure the full operation of your TATU Reversible Disc Plow.

Operation Safety
Only with the complete cooperation of the equipment operator,
accidents can be prevented.
This symbols is a warning device which should be kept
in place, always clean and visible, when transporting the
equipment during day or night, use accessory lights and
other devices in order to give adequate warning to another
vehicles operators.
The reversible disc plow is easy to operate, however it requires basic and essential
care for its handling.
Keep always in mind that Safety requires Continuous Attention, Observation, and
Caution; while in transportation, maintenance, and storage of the equipment.
To the operator
Never use your hands to check hydraulic leaks, escaping oil
under pressure, may have sufficient pressure and may have sufficient
force to penetrate the skin, maybe cause several injuries.
Keep the entrances and work places clean and safe from oil,
grease. Risk of accidents.
To the operator
While at work or during transportation, only the presence of the operator is
allowed on the tractor.
Do not allow children to play near or over the disc plow, while it is in operation,
during transportation or stored.
Have full knowledge of the land area before you start your work. Provide the delineation
of obstacles or hazardous locations.
Use the speed which is suitable to the conditions of the ground or pathways to be covered.
Use individual protection equipment.
Wear appropriate clothes and footwear. Avoid clothes that are either loose or hanging
from the body, which may become entangled in moving parts.
Be careful while hitching the disc plow to the tractor.
Wear protection gloves to work near the disc blades.
While positioning the disc plow for transportation, make sure there are no people or
animals near the equipment.
Never try to change the adjustments, clean or lubricate the machine while it is in motion.
Always switch off the engine before leaving the tractor seat.
Only drive the equipment using tractors with the appropriate power.
Carefully check the transport width on narrow locations.
Whenever you unhitch the equipment, either in the field or shed, do it on a flat and firm
surface. Make sure the equipment is properly supported.
Please observe the general safety instructions on the back of this manual.

Assembly
General assembly
To make transportation easy to do, the disc plows are factory semi-assembled, and
you only have to assemble some components, as follows:
- Choose a flat and dirt-free location.
- The assembly shall start basically in two ways:
By lying the chassis on two trestle legs approximately 01(one) meter high; or
By hitching the chassis to the 3 points of the tractor and lifting it approximately 01
(one) meter high.
- Hence, attach the disc blades (A) to the hubs (B) using the screws (C), lock washers,
and nuts.
- Also attach the reversing lever (D) along with the spring (S) and the rod (F).
10
Assembly
Assembling AR-PR hydraulic cylinder
Assemble the cylinder and hoses with the following steps:
- Fasten the cylinder (A), with the pins (B), and cotter pins.
- Connect the hoses (C) to the cylinder (A) and also attach the fasteners (D) to the
chassis, and fasten them using screws and lock washers.

The track width on a tractor is directly correlated the cutting width of the
first disc blade, on disc plows in general, which can be noticed after the
second pass.
Please check the proper track width and the best way to drive the tractor,
so that the first disc blade can actuate with the same cutting width than
the others.

NOTE
Scraper adjustment
Both disc blades and tail wheel feature adjustable scrapers; that should work 0.5 to
1.0 cm from the disc blades.
A summary on adjustments
- Track width adjustment. (Page 12).
- Center the disc plow with the tractor, with the same distances between the lower
arms and the tires.
- Adjust the level of the disc plow both widthwise and lengthwise, correcting the latter
after the first pass.
On hard and tough soils:
- Use the top holes of the disc plow coupling.
- Reduce the cutting width.
- Reduce the speed of the disc blades.
- Apply less pressure on the tail wheel spring.
On light and loose soils:
- Use the bottom holes of the disc plow coupling.
- Increase the cutting width.
- Increase the speed of the disc blades.
- Apply more pressure on the tail wheel spring.

Maintenance
Lubrication
The simplest way to extend the life cycle of your disc plow and prevent discontinuity
of work is to perform a proper lubrication, as described below:
Lubricate all grease fittings every 24 hours of work.
- Check the quality of the lubricant in respect of its efficiency and purity, avoiding the
use of products contaminated by water, land, etc...
- Clean the grease fitting with a cloth before inserting the lubricant and replace those
which are defective.
- Insert a sufficient amount of fresh grease.
- Use medium-consistency grease.
Lubrication points

Maintenance
Disc plow maintenance
- While not in use, wash the disc plow, retouch any damage paintwork, protect disc
blades with oil, lubricate all grease fittings and store it in a sheltered and dry location,
preventing it from touching the ground.
- The disc blades should be replaced as soon as low yield is noticed on their
performance, characterized mainly by reduction of their diameter, bluntness and other
damage they may undergo while at work.
- Disassemble the disc hubs every six months or at service intervals, for a complete
maintenance service.
- Make sure all moving parts exhibit no wear and tear. If necessary, replace them.
