Thursday, November 13 (full 75 minutes)

13.4-13.5, 14.1-14.8 (Early Trans. Book)
8 to 12 (some may have several parts)
20% of your final grade

General Information:
F ORMULA SHEET I have distributed an 8.5 x 11 colored piece of paper in
class that you may use as a formula sheet during the exam. You must use that
piece of paper, and you must follow the directions that are written on it.

Basic scientific calculators and graphing calculators such as the TI-84 are permitted.
You will not be allowed to share a calculator with anyone else or use a cell phone or any
other electronic device. Calculators with symbolic manipulation capability, such as the
TI-89, TI-92, and TI-Nspire are not permitted.
Storing notes and/or formulas in your graphing calculator is not permitted. Doing so
will be viewed as a violation of the Universitys policy on academic integrity.
You must contact me in advance (unless it is absolutely impossible to do so) if you are
forced to miss the exam. Missing an exam without advanced notification and approval
could result in a serious penalty, up to and including a grade of zero for the exam.
Make-up exams will not be given in general; instead, your final exam score will replace
the missed exam score.
Unless
specifically stated otherwise, your answers should be given in exact form (e.g.,

3
, not .866).
2
Be prepared to show your work. Please remember that I cannot read your mind.
I recommended working on the problems below in preparation for the exam. You
should also be able to do all of the assigned homework problems and quiz problems,
and you should go over the examples done in class. I do NOT guarantee that every
problem on the test will be like one of the problems on this sheet.
I will reserve the last 30 minutes of class on Tuesday, November 11 for answering questions that you have on these review problems (and any other questions in preparation
for the exam).
