THE ARTS OFFICE December 1, 2014 ____________________________ ____________________________ ____________________________ ____________________________ Dear _______________________, Greetings! Christmas is the time when we remember the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Dubbed locally as the Pasko ha Palo, this joyous occasion is one which is looked forward to not only by our townspeople but also that of nearby places as well. To celebrate the joy of Christmas, the Local Government Unit of Palo, under the dynamic and active leadership of Hon. Remedios Matin L. Petilla, will be holding the Annual Christmas Festival with the theme, Pagpabaskog ha Palo, Pagpabaskog ha Kalugariongon ( Strengthening Palo, Strengthening Ourselves). In line with this, there will be a Choral Competition featuring local choirs of Palo. Each choir must be composed of 16 but not more than 20 members. There will be two categories, to wit: a.) Children; and b.) Youth/Adult Category. No professional groups will be allowed to join. They will be singing two songs, a warm up song and the contest piece. Sheet Music and accompaniment for the contest piece will be provided to the competitors. The competition aims to develop and promote the talents and skills of the Paloanos and create an avenue for camaraderie among our local choirs. In this regard, we would like to invite choirs from your school/church/barangay to join the CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL CHORAL COMPETITION on December 20, 2014, 7:00 pm at the Palo Public Plaza. The competition is open to Local Choirs of Palo only. Guidelines for the competition are available at the Municipal Tourism Office.
