Salient
Features
* It
focuses
on
the
holistic
development
of
the

.
* It
is
outcome-based
as
it
prepares
learners
for:
1)
higher

2)
middle

skills,
3)
employment,
and
4)
entrepreneurship
* It
is

2)
learners
growth
and
development,
3)

K

Desired
Outcomes
* Content
standards
are
what
the
students
should
know
(facts
and
information),
what
they
do
(process
or
skills),
and
what
understanding
they
construct
as
they
process
the
information.
The
students
are
expected
not
only
to
understand
but
also
to
demonstrate
what
they
learn,
thus
providing
evidence
of
learning.
* Performance
standards
are
what
students
do
or
how
they
use
their
learning
and
understanding.
The
students
are
expected
to
produce
products
and/or
performances
to
prove
that
they
can
apply
what
they
learn
in
real-life
situations.

* At
the

has
been

more

does
not
mean
less

for

* Comparing
the
time

per
subject
in
the
previous

and
the

curriculum,
one
sees
a
reduction
of

particularly
in

However,
when
the
time
allotment
allotted
to
these
subjects
in

is
combined
with
those
provided
in
the
SHS,
it
will
be
seen
that
there
is
actually
an
increase
in
time

As
part
of
the
process
of
decongesting
the

the

spreads
out
the

over

of

* For

there
is
a
