Quote of the Month
Tact is a way of dealing with others
thoughtfully and with genuine concern for their feelings. Sensitivity to
what is appropriate in a given situation together with the ability to speak,
lead or act without offending are the
hallmarks of tact. Tact can be regarded as the great facilitator in all mutually successful interpersonal encounters. George W. Fotis in Improving Personal Effectiveness, p. 45.

One role of the Grammarian in a

Toastmasters club is to bring a
word for the day and listen for its
usage. Here are some of my favorite
words used at club meetings in
2014:
Discombobulate = to confuse
Segue = to make a transition from
one thing to another
Spurious = fake, false, inauthentic
Whippersnapper = insignificant,
or presumptuous person
Zippy = full of energy

Why pay thousands of dollars for a
seminar or class when you can join a
Toastmasters club for a fraction of
the cost and have fun in the
process?
