Ref: DA FACTOR IN DO'S WAGE

The attachment is an Excel Tool, which would give an overview of how the Dearness
Allowance has grown since last wage revision (August 2007). The DA overload has
been catching up fast with a value almost equal to the basic pay.
As we know, in the wage revision that is already due in August 2012, the DA factor is
going to be merged with the existing pay (Neutralized) and over and above that the
wage hike percentage (which was proposed at 10.5% in the previous round of talks
with Unions) is going to be added.
This has been happening and is a routine.
While everyone must be happy to get a fair deal of hike, our class of employees
(Development Officers) are put to untold mental agony because of the impending
danger of increased requirement of production of SFYPI.
Besides the permanent increase in production requirements, there is also a precedent
of burdening it with an Equitable Relief requirement for the wage arrears portion.
The relief (?) that was given in 2007 wage settlement was 50%. But this itself was an
additional burden and many had to suffer and attract disincentive table.
This tool would help us to realize and react, placing the facts of injustice in the
appraisal system.
Note: The tool requires the user to fill up the yellow shaded cells. (Suggestive values
are provided, which could be seen while placing the mouse on the cells)
1. Appraisal beginning month & year
2. Basic pay in that month
As the tool has provisions for the period Sep2008 to Sep 2013, one would get the DA
that we have earned in the six years commencing from the chosen month & year.
For those who prefer a date later than 2009, the final rows of future dates would
reflect as N/A.
The bottom portion of the Tool, gives an idea of what would be the salary after the
wage revision 2012. Here again, please fill up the yellow shaded cells.
