Firmware Development Online Training

Introduction to Firmware Development

Firmware is a software program etched into a device to give
permanent instructions to perform functions like communication
tasks. It is the combination of persistent memory and program code.
Typical examples of devices containing firmware are embedded
systems. It contains the control program for the devices and data is
stored in it. Firmware is held in non-volatile memory devices such
as ROM, EPROM or flash memory and the program of an
embedded system will run on the system and deliver all of its
functions.
