The Vampire known as Malek
was formerly a student
at Royal Holloway
university named Peter Edwards. He was well liked by his peers and his tutors, and
was a very attentive student. However, what they didnt know is that by night he was
stealing, pick pocketing and generally taking other peoples property, and he was good
at it. It was this talent that first caught the attention of the vampire Sean Pierce, a
Ravnos of Romani origin who had worked hard to raise his standing in the world.
Sean manipulated Peter into following him to his house, knowing the boy couldnt
resist breaking in when he saw the property. As Peter wandered the house Sean
engaged the boy in conversation, pleasantly surprised by the boys intellect. Over the
course of the next few nights the two would venture out to local clubs together. Seans
vice was that he loved sex. Not just the act itself, but the chase, the charming a
woman into bed, that was where the thrill lied for Sean. Peter was happy for his friend
to do as he liked, it worked as a nice distraction for him to relieve people of their
valuables.
This carried on for many months, and the two became close friends. Until peter
decided to follow peter home, knowing he would be distracted with his chosen
woman of the night, to notice him breaking in. but as Peter crept up the stairs, he
caught a glimpse of something that would change his life. As peter and the woman
were locked in the embrace peter noticed there was a small trickle of blood running
down the womans back. As he looked closer Peter noticed that Sean was sucking on
her neck, drinking the blood. Horrified peter gasped, the sound causing Seans head to
snap up. Their eyes locked. And in the blink of an eye Peter was face to face with
Sean, then darkness.
When Peter awoke he was in a large amphitheatre, one he recognised, it was one of
his college lecture rooms. As he looked around he saw Sean and a number of others.
That night the prince of the region would have had Peter killed, had Sean not
convinced them that the boy had great potential, and would be a great asset. With that,
it was decided that Peter would be sired as a vampire, but not by Sean. Marishka,
another Ravnos would be his sire, and Sean would be banished from the court, never
to return.

After that night Peter was taught the ways and laws of
the vampires by Marishka, and learned to hone the
abilities his new Vampiric blood gave him. After he had
learned all he could, Peter left Egham, Changing his
name to Malek, to join the court in London, as Sean had
often talked of the court there.
After a time Malek established himself in London,
making contacts and fences, and bought a small
apartment not far from the shared to be his haven.

Claire is a former student who dropped out after he drug
addiction became an issue. She met Malek one night
when he was returning home from caught, initially she begged him for money. At first
he brushed her off but then he began to talk to her, ask her about herself. At first
Claire wasnt sure what to say, but after a while the two had talked close to dawn.
They met several times since. In Claire, Malek sees something of the sister he left
behind and wants to help her. She is very intelligent, and has a talent for photography.
Her camera is never fair from her side.
She became Maleks ghoul after her drug dealer, Johns, beat her nearly to death over a
missed payment. Knocking Johns unconscious, Malek gave Claire his blood to save
her life.
Malek has ensured, through the use of Hank (police contact) that johns is having a
prolonged stay at her majesties pleasure as Hank would put it.

Hank was a just a regular beet cop until Malek took
an interest in him, after he nearly caught him during
a break in. The mans intellect and obvious talent for
Investigation stood him apart from most police.
Malek couldnt pass up such an asset so he began to
help him climb the ladder, by feeding him information and tips anonymously. With
this information he made a string of busts and arrests, quickly being promoted to
detective. During this time he started to look more into where the tips were coming
from, eventually meeting Malek face to face (just as planned!!).
That night the two formed an agreement that has proofed beneficial to both parties,
and though neither of them would admit it, they have a grudging respect for each
other. The agreement they made that night is known only to the two of them, and they
arent telling.

Dimitri is a man off gypsy origin and is the
ghoul of another Ravnos vampire (who is not
part of the London court). Malek was
introduce to him by Anton on his arrival in
London and is more than happy to fence
stolen
goods for him. Their partnership goes beyond simple business and the two have
become close friends, Dimitri having taught Malek much about his clans origins (as
told to Dimitri by his master, an older generation vampire).

Events since the Attack:

Malek has had Claire move into his apartment.
They have had a long conversation about why Malek saved her, the potential
he sees in here and not wanting her to through it away on drugs.
Moved that someone would care about her enough to help her, she has started
to get clean.
Claire has talked about volunteering at the shelter she was staying in to give
something back.
Malek has asked Dimitri to give Claire a job at his pawnshop, which he has
agreed to.
Dimitri has started to teach Claire about what it means to be a ghoul and more
about the vampire world.
Malek has had Hank get Claire a gun for self protection (Licensed and through
legal channels, something small and easily concealable.)
