Blessings from God, our Father to each of you in this new year,
I believe we have an exciting year ahead of us as we choose to let our
Lord lead us. I want to share the following devotion from the Jesus Calling
devotional book that I think gives us the right approach to 2015. Read it as
though Jesus is speaking directly to you:
As you sit quietly in My presence, let Me fill your heart
and mind with thankfulness. This is the most direct
way to achieve a thankful stance. If your mind needs a
focal point, gaze at My love poured out for you on
the cross. Remember that nothing in heaven or on
earth can separate you from that love. This remembrance
builds a foundation of gratitude in you, a foundation
that circumstances cannot shake.
As you go through each day, look for tiny
treasures strategically placed along the way. I lovingly
go before you and plant little pleasures to brighten
your day. Look carefully for them, and pluck them one
by one. When you reach the end of the day, you
will have gathered a lovely bouquet. Offer it up to
Me with a grateful heart. Receive My peace as you lie
down to sleep, with thankful thoughts playing a lullaby
in your mind.
Psalm 4:7-8 tells us: "You have filled my heart with greater joy than when
their grain and new wine abound. I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you
alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."
Step into this new year trusting God is with you and wants the best for you.

Greetings to All and

Blessing in this New Year!
As I reflect back on the
2014 year I see so many
big steps we have taken
and the continued promise
that our Lord and Savior
reigns! As we step into
2015 we begin a new journey of seeking a
shepherd to bless our congregation with. I ask
that as a team of brothers and sisters search,
that you lift them up daily in prayer that God
gives them direction, wisdom, and a peace of
heart! Leading and teaching God's word is a
blessing and it is His wish we know Him in a
deeper relationship through His word, study,
worship, and reaching out to others. I have had
the privilege to work with some talented, gifted,
and truly uplifting people on my journey as a
Small Group Team Leader, I look forward to
2015 and what it has in store. We begin to plan
for VBS in January! If you would like to join our
team, watch for the sign up sheet in the
Narthex. We also look forward to the Financial
Studies that will begin in January too!
I pray that this New Year finds you getting to
know the Lord more...to be reaching out to
seek His guidance and direction! Blessings to
you and your family as we enter a NEW YEAR
with the Lord!

Hello Everyone,
We are gearing up to start the

will also be handing out the 1st quarter attendance
awards before the children go to their classrooms. I
pray that our 2nd quarter is as blessed as the 1st
quarter was.
Blessings

Shepherd of the Pines Mission Statement: Connecting People to GodTo Othersand To Service
The purpose of this congregation is mandated for us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as found in the words of the Great
Commission (Matthew 28), namely first of all to Go. To leave our walls of refuge, going into all the world, comprising of our families
and neighbors. We plan to achieve our purpose by identifying persons with whom we are particularly well-equipped to serve and reach
with the challenge of becoming Disciples of Christ.
Second, to Make Disciples or in the words of St Paul, To equip the saints (Ephesians 4:12). This is to be understood as helping
people to live the Christian life here on earth. Preparing and encouraging young and old alike to find and to use their God given gifts
and abilities for the extension of His Kingdom, and to grow in fervent love for God and for others.
Thirdly, to Baptize as commanded by Jesus Himself. As God reaches down to mankind with His means of grace, He would have us
baptize His people, bringing them into His family and Kingdom, granting to them life, forgiveness of sins, and eternal salvation.
And lastly, to continue steadfast in His Word, Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. A continued
zeal for the study of His Word, the Bible, is necessary for the growth of any Christian congregation. Thus, the Word of God will be
taught and studied in full measure and His Word shall be the rule and norm of this congregations faith and life.
To that end, our every effort and energy will be used in motivating, training, and putting to use our time, and talents and treasures
to Make Disciples.
