With all due respect, I am here to say that this is a complete

falsehood.
After all, WUS belongs to its members...we are the ones that
post in this forum, we are the ones that contribute our
awesome photos, we are the ones that willingly and happily
share our knowledge with new members, we are the ones
that post reviews, we are the ones that that help new
members chose their watches and help them to fix their
broken ones, etc.

We are what makes this forum work...not Ernie, and not the
mods who are so quick to censor anti-WUS speech without

explanation.
To top it off, we used to have a certain Hokie as our leader,

and now he has inexplicably been cast aside in a manner
that was unjustified and just plain wrong.

explanation is given as to why Gabe was dismissed.

subject other than SCO watches, I propose to suspend him for a
couple of days.
I am sick and tired of the self-aggrandizing manner in which he

belittles Ernie's and our efforts, and how he already has passed
judgment on Isthmus's departure as "unjustified and plain wrong".
By the way, isn't there a function in the software that

troublemakers' posts would need to be reviewed by a forum mod. or
MaL before they appear on the forum? I think that would come in

handy in situations like these. The member would not have to be

temp-banned, but still wouldn't be able to cause trouble ...

I am up for allowing people to question and discuss, but this demanding is
ridiculous. Bottom line a decision was made. Move on or move out. This all
reminds me so much of the old G Shock disturbance. We made it through
that on one of our most popular forums, we will make it through this.
WUS is NOT owned by its members. They make it what it is, but they dont
run it. They dont make decisions, they dont deal with difficult posters and
most likely they dont contribute to the forum beyond their posts.
Now, I am all for being gentle, and I hate to see ANY member leave, but
we will likely lose some.
The oddest part of all this is that if Gabe were still modding there he would
be cracking down on people left and right.
And yet, Seiko Citizen and Orient posts continue. Clearly a large part of
that population may be upset, but life goes on.
We have a few agitators... this guy is one of 3 I have seen. I wouldn't mind
a short vacation for them if it continues. They will cool off and come back,
or not. But I also think if we go that route we should tell them just that.

colors/logo (Vermont?)

+1 one on everything here. When I read "After all, WUS belongs to
its members...we are the ones..." blah blah blah, I quite literally
laughed out loud. They don't think for a moment. They don't have
any concept of what "ownership" of a Forum entails. The cost, both
financial and personal. That is an arrogant and very ignorant
statement.
Yep, the Hokie Symbol should not be allowed in their sigs for now. If
they're a VT Sports fan (it's about college sports guys, like the
Spartan symbol sometimes flown by Martin I think? Go State!
Oops.... was it Ray? That'd make Martin's U of M ..... Now I can't
recall which was a fan of which!) .
But if they're fans, they can use a banner, pennant, or some other
symbol for the moment. Right now it is obviously a statement on the
whole issue of Isthmus (I am still shocked he'd encourage such a
ripping apart in this Forum that he loved).
