Due to the lack of data on the salts really in solution, we consider that they are potentially less dangerous than AgNO3 for
the aquatic environment and classify the mixture with the R51/53 phrase (some manufacturers and distributors do not
apply any classification on this point for some salts and some reports indicate a particular effect of AgNO3 on the
environment).
OTHER INFORMATION: contains also other EC not regulated salts.

4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
CONTACT WITH SKIN
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash immediately with plenty of water (10 to 15 minutes).
CONTACT WITH EYES
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for approximately 15 minutes. Always seek medical advice for a careful check.
INHALATION
Theoretically, not applicable. Under abnormal conditions of use causing considerable inhalation, remove the casualty
from the contaminated area, let him take a rest in a well-ventilated room, seek medical advice and transfer to hospital.
INGESTION
If the person is perfectly conscious, try to induce vomiting and call immediately the medical service to transfer to hospital.
PROTECTION OF THE FIRST-AIDERS
Wear gloves and goggles and according to the situation, protective clothes and shoes or a mask.

5 - FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Dry ice, powders.
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA WHICH SHALL NOT BE USED
No information.
SPECIFIC HAZARDS
Prevent any material from entering drains or waterways or soil. The contaminated extinguishing agents must be treated
and eliminated in accordance with regulations.
Dangerous thermal decomposition products: notably nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides and fumes of metal oxides.
PROTECTION OF THE FIRE-FIGHTERS
Because of the substances produced during thermal decomposition, use approved self-contained breathing equipment
and protective clothing in case of intervention.

6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Avoid contact with eyes, the skin and clothes: wear glasses and gloves. Wear also a FFP3 mask in case of vapours or
sprays (accidental situation or during electrolysis).
Dispose of all contaminated clothing and shoes. In the event of contact with the skin, wash thoroughly in water for 10 to
15 minutes, then use soap if the skin has blackened.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
Do not allow the product to be thrown away. Recover as much as possible for processing within the firm or by an
approved centre.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP
With water to remove all non-recoverable product. Collect the recoverable rinsing water for processing within the firm or
by an approved centre.

7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING
Use as supplied. Close containers (in black PE) tightly after use with the original cap. Do not re-use containers with
another product.
STORAGE
Store on a spill-retaining vat, in a room, away from incompatible agents. Keep in tightly closed original containers only, at
5-30C in the darkness. The maximum recommended shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture under normal
conditions of storage.

PERSONAL PROTECTION
Provide a shower, a powerful tap and sink unit, an eye basin near the workplace and a protective breathing mask for
emergency interventions.
Respiratory protection: during brush plating, provide an effective inhaling of the vapours / sprays where they are
created and extraction out of the premises, and if insufficient, wear a filtering FFP3 mask (EN 149:2001 standard)
Hand protection: wear imperatively gloves (of latex or nitrile for example).
Eye protection: wear glasses with lateral protections or a facial screen. Do not wear contact lenses.
Skin protection: wear overalls and safety shoes.

11 - TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No data are available regarding the mixture. The evaluation of health hazards has been realised thanks to
applicable regulations and bibliographical data.
The absorption of silver depends on the solubility of the silver salt in the considered biologic environment, and of its
granulometry if it is a solid.
Silver is absorbed by various ways: digestive (18% of the ingested quantity is absorbed), pulmonary (close to 90%) and
very weakly cutaneous. Local deposition of silver on the mucous membranes limits the absorption. It is transported bound
to the red corpuscles and globulins. It goes quickly in the liver and the brain and is stored in the reticuloendothelial
system.
The elimination is nearly exclusively fecal (half-life of 1 and 50 days) and very weakly urinary and sudoral (< 8%).

15 - REGULATORY INFORMATION
This safety data sheet has been established in accordance with Annex II of the Corrigendum to Regulation (EC) n
1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 18, 2006, OJ L136, 29.05.2007 (Reach
regulation).
st
The preparation labelling has been established in compliance with the 1 adaptation of regulation (EC) n1272/2008 (CLP
regulation, OJ L353 of 31.12.2008, and commission regulation (EC) N790/2009 of 10 August 2009) and with the
1999/45/EC directive reviewed in January 23, 2006 by the 2006/8/EC directive.

S26: in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
S37: wear suitable gloves.
S60: this material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
HEALTH SURVEILLANCE
Council Directive 98/24/EC of 7 April 1998 on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the risks related to
chemical agents at work
An appropriate health surveillance of workers must be carried out according to the risk.
For each worker who undergoes this health surveillance, individual health and exposure records are to be made and kept
up-to-date.
