LAKEWOOD A cushy tax break, insufficient parking, violations of its original site plan: the Lakewood Conference Center has it all.
On paper, the gleaming four-story building at 401
Madison Ave. is only supposed to have one use and no
more than 17 occupants, according to plans approved in
2006.
In reality, the building in Lakewoods downtown has a
catering and social hall on its ground floor. a school on
two floors and a bank on its top floor. Its owner, David
Gluck, has publicly acknowledged the site has at least 24

Christie speech
likely for GOP ears

Jobonanno & The Godsons perform Sunday at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park as part of the Light of Day Winterfest,
which runs through next Sunday at various venues in the city.

Gov. Chris Christie no longer makes time for town

halls and Statehouse news conferences, so shouldnt his
annual State of the State speech Tuesday be a chance
to reconnect with constituents?
Slim chance, say political analysts and other Christie-watchers who are convinced the Republican governor will use the speech as an opportunity to boost his
potential presidential campaign.
All the things that hes going to say in Trenton will
be red meat to conservatives and the Republican base
across the country, said TV and radio commentator
Larry Mendte. This isnt about New Jersey. This is
about Chris Christie and running for president.

this is a
godsend for all

The British are coming, the British are coming to Asbury Park.
The Italians, Swiss and Canadians are coming, too. Thats because the Light of
Day Winterfest 2015, taking place in Asbury Park through Sunday, Jan. 18, has
become a destination festival for hundreds of music fans around the world.
The global appeal is an opportunity to retrace the steps of Bruce Springsteen
at Asbury Park and Jersey Shore spots such as The Stone Pony and a chance to see
The Boss perform at the festivals Main Event, which this year takes place Saturday, Jan. 17, at the citys Paramount Theatre.
