SUMMARY

This thesis is titled: "Computer system using web platform for academic administration at
the superior private institute of technology AMAUTA " is a software tool that allows you to
record academic schedules for students and teachers by academic periods, allowing to
reduce time in the register of each schedules records of teachers, as well as generating
reports in ticket notes instantly without having to compile the information because the
system delivers that it in accordance with the required parameters.
The main objective of the thesis was to determine the influence of a computer software for
the academic administration in the superior private institute of technology AMAUTA. The
type of study was experimental and Applied Experimental and the research design was preexperimental. The research method is hypothetical - deductive, because the defined
hypotheses have to be verified experimentally. The methodology of developing the
computer system was: The ICONIX methodology for knowledge acquisition and modeling
system. Knowledge acquisition was made by collecting information about the topic,
through meetings and / or interviews with the expert; ICONIX methodology as the most
consistent and used for the analysis, design, development, implementation and nowadays
documentation of systems having as Rational Rose Enterprise 7.0 used software. We chose
the language PHP programming to create pages quickly, easily and it is Open Source,
JQuery is a framework for Javascript that let me save lines of code in programming,
BootStrap is a framework that allows the adaptability of the design of the web system on
different devices that can access the web system (PCs, Tablet, Cell phones and others), the
data manager database is MySQL as it is a relational database management system and it is
Open Source.
Likewise, the population was 34 schedule records, 34 teachers and 60 reports in ticket
notes, for which a sample of population was taken from the quantitative point, will work
with the sample from each population to ensure the validity and a better study analysis. It
has as Indicators: test execution time and number of errors. And also, another population
was taken to generate grades reports and finally another one for the grade of satisfaction of
teachers.
On the other hand, after the system was implemented it was obtained as a result that the
time of the schedules records of academics for teachers was reduced in 95% approximately.
In addition, the generating report time was reduced in 94,5% and finally the satisfaction of
teachers increased by 44,37%, %, which was validated and tested with human expert, the
Administrator of the institution.
Finally with the results mentioned above, It is concluded that the computer system
improves academic management at the superior private institute of technology AMAUTA.
