STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

"As global times and technologically driven markets evolve, it becomes imperative to make
improvising changes that will enable one to stay afloat and attain satisfaction in ones job".
Into the twenty-first century, rapid advances in technology, intense international competition, faster product life
cycles, and complex and specialized markets characterize the business environment.

In such a turbulent

environment, the information requirements of organizations are becoming increasingly more challenging. This
gives rise to a need for MIS professionals who make use of information technology both to discover new and
innovative ways of carrying out business processes and to solve the business problems of today and tomorrow.
They are required to address the diverse issues such as the creative and appropriate application, the effective
management and the organizational and societal impacts of information technology.
Based on my innate inclination towards management and technology, I am enticed to pursue my Masters degree
in this enthralling field of Management of Information Systems at your reputed university. Through this degree,
I aspire to gain knowledge about the foundations of information technology, system analysis and design,
database management systems, project management, knowledge-based systems, telecommunication and
application development methodologies. I hope to stay attuned with the latest principles, methods and
techniques of both technology and management that will enable me to lead my company successfully into the
future.
In my ambition to pursue a degree in MIS, I consider my academic background to be the right stepping-stone. I
took up Information Technology as my undergraduate major at Vasantdada Patil College of Engineering,
affiliated to University of Mumbai, after completing my basic high school education from ________. As a part
of this course, I studied a number of courses that helped me to hone my essential skills of Information
Technology and Design and the ability to conceptualize. I learnt to project my analytical skills and constantly
enhance it with sheer hard work. Working with zest and zeal, I learnt to utilize my abilities to the maximum that
subsequently bore the sweet fruit of success.
During the tenure of my undergraduate curriculum, I was introduced to interesting subjects such as _______ etc.
Moreover, the curriculum not only stressed on classroom lectures by renowned faculty, but also encouraged
research, experimentation and project work. This helped me to clear all my doubts and to gain a detailed insight
into the field of Information Technology. My final year project named Image Steganography with Encryption
is designed to be able to hide files containing confidential, important or other type of information which would
not be revealed to unintended or unauthorized audience, in bitmap files. Here, I also got exposed to working in
teams. I believe being a team player has been one of my greatest fortes. I possess an exceptional ability to

assemble, interact, lead and bring out the best in people, a quality that has enabled me to achieve many difficult
and impossible tasks.
Thus, equipped with this background, I see myself as a person who has a lot to contribute to his future
institution and society on the whole. I lead my life with the following motto: "If you cant be a highway be a
trail, if you can't be the sun be a star, it isn't by the size that you win or fail, be the best of what ever you are!"
To conclude, I will only say that till date I have always worked with complete sincerity, diligence and hard work
to put in my best in every endeavor. This has been my path of life. Equipped with these inherent personal
attributes and honed technical knowledge, I hope to be considered as a worthy candidate for admission into your
Masters program. I promise to justify your faith in my abilities and ultimately realize my cherished dream of
