PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Nemak of Canada, Windsor, ON 2006 - 2009

Essex Aluminum Plant, TMEP Department 2008 - 2009

Production of Ford trucks cylinder heads, George Fishers core machines, FATA and EMI
casting turn tables and holding furnaces
Electrical and Controls Engineer
• Reduced core room scrap rate by design and installation of a compressed air cooling system for
Klein sand transporter which effectively reduced the sand temperature in the core machine
day bins. The work was awarded for cost reduction
• Upgraded the holding furnaces burner’s controls with microprocessor based ones, for local and
remote annunciation of operation, fault information, remote reset and diagnosis
• Reduced voids and leakers during casting by re-designing the core shuttle fixture blow off system
• Supported maintenance in repairs and troubleshooting on the production floor

Windsor Aluminum Plant, Base Plant Department 2007 - 2008

Production of Ford cars cylinder blocks, Laempe core machines, Bleichert conveyors, buffer
conveyor, Nordson glue cells and vision systems
Rafid G. Jameel -2

Electrical and Controls Engineer

• Increased glue cells availability by intensively repairing the temperature zones controls and
parameter adjustments which led to a stable operation and minimum production down times
• Optimized vision systems operation by modifying the programs and thresholds for better quality
and mistake proofing enhancement
• Installed and commissioned an auto carrier clean vacuum project which eliminated 2 man power per shift
• Expedited the integration of 4 Nordson glue units to the robot glue cells for the right sizing project, by
extensive repairs of the used glue units with minimum supplier support and met the critical time lines
• Reduced cost by designing and installing a core talcing system for the right sizing project using
components from an old abandoned production line

Essex Aluminum Plant, Base Heads Department 2006 - 2007

Production of Minivans cylinder heads, Sutter core machines, EMI turntables, FATA auto
pour robots, holding furnaces and cubing/clean lines
Electrical and Controls Engineer
• Acted as Mechanical Engineer for the department after the elimination of the mentioned position
• Supported maintenance repairs, spare part replacement search and accommodation of safety and
quality issues for a 20 year old production line until the operation was ceased
• Developed procedures for PMs, like V6saw house spindle motor replacement
• Designed and implemented a robot training cell for skill trade training purposes

Kautex-Textron Inc., Windsor, ON 2000 - 2006

Production of low permeation plastic fuel tanks and fuel systems for the automotive industry,
continuous extrusion blow molding machines, automated plastic welding machines and final
product assembly lines
Industrial Electrician
• Participated in a new products cells launch including installation, wiring, panel modifications,
commissioning and testing of the new and existing equipment
• Calibrated electro hydraulic parison control system cards for optimum and uniform wall
thickness of continuously extruded profiles
• Led and participated in an electrical group to relocate and install a plastic grinder which included
the re-wiring, testing, commissioning and prints updating
• Minimized down times of the blow mold machines due to material freezing in the extruders
cooling zones by installing a new water valve and optimizing the control parameters for these zones
• Reduced the cycle time of the blow mold cells by installing a single axis tank gripper to eliminate
the time where the machine is waiting for the robot to pick up the tank from the clamp
• Dramatically reduced the down time of the elutriation room by redesigning and rebuilding the
control panel in a minimum transition time which reduced the complexity and improved reliability

SELCO (Specialized Electronic Industries Co.), Amman, Jordan 1999 - 2000

Electronic Engineer
• Maintained, repaired and calibrated electronic boards (PCB) for factories, production lines
and power stations using PCB diagnosis system (Board Master ABI 8000), like more than 30
speedtronic cards for Hitachi units frame 4 and 6
• Designed, installed and commissioned PC controlled scoreboards and message system for
soccer stadium, stationary and portable ones for triathlon sports
• Developed new control systems for old production lines and machines

Rafid G. Jameel -3

Al-Rafidain Engineering Bureau, Baghdad, Iraq 1992 - 1998
