Introduction
By creating a framework for performance management we are taking the steps to
ensure that Landslide Limousines is a successful business venture. Performance
management is an essential tool for a company. It creates the opportunity for the
individual success of all its employees, and therefore the longevity of the company to
prosper. Outlined are recommendations that we here at Atwood and Allen consulting
feel should be utilized to maximize the untapped potential this company has.
Performance Management
In order for any business to become successful it is important for companies to
implement a performance management framework. An effective framework allows the
companies to ensure goals are met and internal decisions are made based off of
employees work performance. Performance management aligns with the business
strategy because the business strategy displays the vision and goals set by the
company and the performance management framework is another tool. This
framework is also useful in measuring and ensuring goals are understood and
employees are given the best chance to succeed and help the business achieve their
goals. (Performance Management Framework, 2013).
Recommendations
It is Landslides Limousine Services intentions to provide a service that is superb and
allows their customer to feel like royalty when their being transported. Having a clear
business vision and implementing realistic goals, helps when youre targeting areas
for improvement. Establishing measurable such as performance management
framework ensures the business to see the numbers they are anticipating. Effective
performance management aligns the efforts of managers and employees to promote

consistency in performance reviews and brings about results the company will like. It
is recommend that this company promote growth by providing training and
conducting sessions. It is also extremely imperative for Landslide Limousine Services
to analysis feedback from employees and customers.
The job analysis provides a way to develop this understanding by examining the tasks
performed in a job, the competencies required to perform those tasks, and the
connection between the tasks and competencies ("Job Analysis ", 2013).
Job analysis give a clear understanding about the job and what it entails. Our
recommendation at this time would be that this company would need to have a clear
job description stating what qualification youre looking for and what the job entails,
to attract prospective employees that meet and exceed whats the company is looking
for.
The methods used for measuring employee skills are assessment, on the job training
and prior to get the job, resume screening. The methods recommended for this
company would be to screen for applicants that already have basic skills thats relative
to the job desired. (Shah & Burke, 2005). Another method used for measuring these
skills is performance evaluation. Based on information gathered and result logged we
can evaluate and determine ways to improve individual employees as well as the
company.
Management must ensure the employees are capable and qualified to do whats
expected of them. Training should consist of planned programs designed to improve
performance at the individual, group, and/or organizational levels. Improved
performance, in turn, implies that there have been measurable changes in knowledge,
skills, attitudes, and/or social behavior (Ployhart, 2011). The main factor to remember
while conducting training for the business is to make sure your employees are
learning the skills needed and require to do the desire job. It is crucial that this
business employees have the necessary job training to allow Landslide Limousine to
achieve its goals and gain a positive reputation.
The process for addressing skill gaps starts with conducting a gap analyses to
determine if there is a gap, and if so what in areas. After data is collected and results
are determined, its now management responsibility to identify where the employee
skill set stops, and where it needs to be. Ultimately, it is the job of the employer to
establish tools, training and support to bridge the gap and continue to generate
revenue in a comfortable environment.

In any company feedback is a very important aspect. As a manager the approach for
delivering effective feedback is important because as a manger your ultimate purpose
is to motivate and encourage your employees to create a comfortable work
environment but more importantly to get maximum effort out of each individual to
achieve the company goal. The intention of feedback is to increase awareness and
alignment, offer positive alternative and to know where they stand. Always remember
it is vital to make it clear in how you evaluate performances. Give your employees a
copy of the performance appraisal before the meeting. Lastly, you must remember to
do is give a positive message to your good employee by highlighting the strengths.
Conclusion
In order for this business to thrive it is imperative that this recommendations not be
taken lightly and that are put to use rather quickly. The success of this business
depends heavily on the employees hired and the skills set in which they possess or are
able to obtain. It is the company job to ensure this standard is upheld and the brand
remains strong. This can only be accomplished through this framework that has been
outlined.
