Seekingforthebestinpicturesquescenery,theclienttookupresidenceinTateshina,and
spentmanyyearssearchingfortheidealsiteforbuildinghishouse.

Inevitably,themainaimofthisprojectistomeettheclientsexpectationstoincorporate
thesestunningviewsintothedesign.WhenIvisitedthesite,myfirstimpressionwas
thatthisuntappedandexpansivenaturemustbeembracedintotheinteriortothegreatest
extentpossible.
Idecidedtoarrangethehouseinsuchthatthishorizontalexpandedscenerymustbe
maximized.Inordertorealizethisdesign,Iintroducedmegastructurescolumnenabling
halfofthehousetoextendintotheair.
Tosupportthislargeoverhangingfloor,2diagonalbracingsteelcylinders,each300mmin
diameterisintroduced.Withthis,thehouseisfloatsintothemidstofagloriousnatural
surroundings.Withthisoverhangingstructure,thebreezeofthemountainplateauflow
throughtheinterior,makesyoucoexistentwithnature.
Whenyouareinvitedtotheentranceway,afterpassingthroughtherestrainedspaceofthe
hallway,andasyouenterintothisdramaticspace,magnificentandimpressivescenery
spreadsoutbeforeyoureyes.
Living/dining/kitchenarea,themajesticpanoramicviewextendsonallthreesidesis
somethingyoucantfindanywhereelse,buthereinthisspace.Andthesceneryisallto
yourown.Thisspaceisanextravagantexperiencethatonlythosewhohavegivena

spacesteepedintheoverwhelmingpresenceofthepanoramicviewsofthearea.The
feelingissointensethatitisalmostasifyouarelivingonacloud.
Thevariouscomponentshavebeenelevatedthroughcarefulattentiontodetailing,andthe
refinementofthestructuregivesasenseoftensionandunitytothespaceandadequate
materials,achievingtheproperbalancebetweenadominanceoverandaharmonywiththe
surroundingnaturalenvironment.
