Health is the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living organism.

In humans, it is the
general condition of a person's mind and body, usually meaning to be free
from illness, injury or pain The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader
sense in 1946 as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the
absence of disease or infirmity.

Working in an office environment can also have bad consequences to your health. Usually
people working in an office sit for most of the day. The design of the chair you are sitting on
is very important. If the chair is not well designed, it can lead to bad back problems. I have
known people who have bad back problems simply from sitting in badly designed chairs. You
can however limit the chance of damaging your health. If you work in a factory consider
wearing special masks that limit the inhaling of dangerous dust and fumes. Also wear
protective clothing and shoes.
Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), or secondhand smoke from cigarettes, pipes, or cigars,
can have devastating effects on a home and its residents. Do not allow smoking in your home
Any bug that is living in the house rather than accidentally getting in from the outside,
represents a potential health & safety problem that should be addressed
Pets that live indoors can result in potential health risks to household members
Dander is the major problem
Keep pets out of carpeted areas & bedrooms

Exercise

Physical activity is crucial to general health. It helps people maintain a healthy weight and
reduces stress levels; people who exercise regularly are less likely to smoke cigarettes or
overeat. But more than that, exercise directly targets primary aspects of heart
health: cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure.
The form of exercise most often connected with decreasing heart disease is aerobic
exercise. That's exercise that raises your heart rate, like jogging, swimming, jumping rope
or bike riding. Aerobic exercise can decrease the risk of heart disease by 20 to 60 percent,
depending on the exertion level, duration and frequency. exercise lowers blood pressure, it
affects triglyceride levels and cholesterol levels.it also controls weight.
Sleep/rest
Sleep is often one of the first things to go when people feel pressed for time. Many view sleep
as a luxury and think that the benefits of limiting the hours they spend asleep outweigh the
costs. People often overlook the potential long-term health consequences of insufficient sleep,
and the impact that health problems can ultimately have on one's time and productivity.
Many of the costs of poor sleep go unnoticed. Medical conditions, such as obesity, diabetes,
and cardiovascular disease, develop over long periods of time and result from a number of
factors, such as genetics, poor nutrition, and lack of exercise. Insufficient sleep has also been
linked to these and other health problems, and is considered an important risk factor. Although
scientists have just begun to identify the connections between insufficient sleep and disease,
most experts have concluded that getting enough high-quality sleep may be as important to
health and well-being as nutrition and exercise.

Addiction to smoking or drugs:
Cigarette smoking harms the body by raising cholesterol levels and blood pressure, as
well as increasing the risk of cancer and cataracts. Smoking destroys certain vitamins and
creates the need for other specific nutrients. Smokers are 4 times more likely to have gray
hair and increased hair loss. No amount of smoking is free of risk. The exact amount of risk
depends on how long you've smoked and how deeply the you inhale, as well as genetic
factors. Tobacco smoking reduces the effectiveness of medications, such as pain relievers,
antidepressants, tranquilizers, sedatives, ulcer medication and insulin. With estrogen and
oral contraceptives, smoking may increase the risk of heart and blood-vessel disease.
Currently, smoking kills 1 in 10 adults worldwide. Smoking causes an increased stress in the
whole body even though there seems to be a lessening of stress when the body gets its ?
fix? from the nicotine. Smokers are more vulnerable to headaches.
How to develop good health habits:

Cultivating healthy habits is something most of us put on their New Year resolution lists and
never actually get to. One of the reasons it is so difficult to cultivate healthy habits is because
it requires changing your tastes, your routines and your life in general. Most people are not
ready for this and each of their attempts is a complete failure.
Start with easy habits
Give each habit 30 days
Realize that some healthy habits are not for you
Go for it 100%
Do 1 healthy habit at a time
Study your healthy habit and realize why you need it
Learn the consequences of not developing healthy habits
Allow yourself to fail.
Recruit support.
Write it down
The first healthy habit that you will try to cultivate will be the most difficult one, but every one
after that will get only easier and easier. In no time you will find yourself living a healthy and
balanced life without even thinking about it.
Keep it balanced!
