Springsteen reflects on Asbury musical heritage

and festivals mission after heading main event
CHRIS JORDAN @CHRISFHJORDAN

The No. 1 mission of the Light of Day Winterfest

is to fight Parkinsons disease, but it has also become a de facto celebration of the musical heritage
of Asbury Park.
Thats a good thing, says Bruce Springsteen, the
unannounced headliner at 11 of the past 15 Light of
Day Main Events, including Saturday at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park.
Its loose sometimes, but if you want to know
what the feeling was back in the 70s in the clubs
around here, its a bit like that, Springsteen said
during an interview with the Asbury Park Press at a
post-concert party after Saturdays Main Event.
The show on Saturday featured 15 acts over seven hours, from the rising Asbury country duo Williams Honor to city and musical legends like

Tiny homes could

solve big problem
JERRY CARINO CARINOS CORNER
POINT PLEASANT The basics are
here. Theres a bed, a kitchen sink, a
mini-fridge and a full bathroom with a
shower stall. Five windows allow plenty
of sunlight, and there are two overhead
lights in the eight-foot ceiling. Three
power outlets dot the walls.
Its amazing how much you can fit in
a home that is 18 feet long and eight

feet wide.
Its also amazing how little space we really need to
live.
Everyone who sees this tiny home, built for $10,000
by a group of 14 volunteers last summer, offers the
same reaction I had when Minister Steve Brigham
gave me a tour.
I could live here.
