There are four different 3D video output formats: H.264 Multi-View Coding
, Side-by-Side Full Width (L/R), Side-by-Side Half Width (L/R), and
Anaglyph. To watch a video outputted in a specific format, you have to
use a corresponding 3D device. We will elaborate on this in chapter 3 and
the following just gives you an introduction. If you choose the Anaglyph
(Red/Cyan) format, you can wear red/blue glasses to watch your video on
a general display. However, if you choose Side-by-Side Full Width (L/R),
Side-by-Side Half Width (L/R), and H.264 Multi-View Coding, you
must use a 3D display, 3D glasses, and a 3D media player to watch your

Extra Information: It is recommended that you place all the media files
you want to use in your production in a single folder, so that you can
instantly locate them or keep track of the files. Since CyberLink
PowerDirector does not save the media you are using for your production,
if you want to use any files/folders that are on a disc or flash drive, it is
suggested that you copy them to your local hard drive first.
85
86
3. Click OK.
87
Note: When you are inserting a project, move the timeline slider to the
position where you want to insert it and then click File > Insert Project.
The inserted project is placed at the exact position you want.
88
Tip: Use
to magnify the
timeline down to the individual
frame level for more precise
editing. The rectangular area over
the timeline is the magnified area,
which is represented as the
timeline or the frame thumbnails
shown below.
89
90
Extra Information: The changes you make to the video clip are only
saved in CyberLink PowerDirector's project file. The original file will remain
the same and will not be affected.
Knowledge Base: To erase a
trimmed segment, just select it in
the window on the right and then
click
. The segments
marks are removed.
91
Extra Information: The trim function sets the mark in and mark out
positions in the same way as multi trim.
92
93
Note: If the position you set with the timeline slider is at the beginning or
end of the video clip, the Split function is not available because no video
clip can be split at these positions.
2. The video clip is split into two
segments.
94
Extra Information: If the split segments are not removed, they can be
combined to return the clip to its previous state.

into 3D
Extra Information: The original video clip is still in the 2D format even
though it was converted from 2D to 3D in the project. When you output
your video production, you will have a new 3D video clip, and the original
video clip will remain unchanged.

After you drag a transition between two media clips, the transition is set
as an overlap transition by default. The transition icon moves to the end of
the first media clip. When you modify the transition behavior to a cross
transition, the transition shows up between the two media clips. You can
tell which type of transition you are using by judging where your transition
is located.

Note: The transitions added to My Favorites are not moved to this folder.
They only appear there as labels and still exist in their original folders. If
you delete a transition from the My Favorites folder, the transition is not
deleted and still remains in its original folder.

When adding effects directly to the effect track, only one special effect is

media clips, you must apply these effects directly to the media clips. The
benefit of adding an effect to the effect track is that the selected effect is
applied to all the editing tracks that are positioned above in the timeline.

must use a corresponding 3D device. We will elaborate more on this in
chapter 3.The following just provides you with an introduction. If you
choose the Anaglyph (Red/Cyan) format, you can wear red/blue glasses
and watch your video in 3D (in a poorer quality) on any regular display
device. However, if you choose Side-by-Side Full Width (L/R) and Side-bySide Half Width (L/R), you must use a 3D display and 3D glasses (red/
blue glasses will also work) to watch your created video. H.264 Multi-View

This section demonstrates how to use the Cloud effect in the Particle Room

Extra Information: Setting the opacity to "100" makes the image opaque.
Repeat the previous steps to add a fade-out effect by setting the opacity at
the next position to "100" and then setting the opacity at the last position
