Completing this lesson will help you understand what i-Option is and how it is configured,
enabling you to better grasp the content in subsequent lessons.

Narration:
i-Option is a collective name for the extended functions that improve the MFP operability.
These functions are either used independently on an MFP, or through the association of
applications.

Narration:
There are seven types of license kits available. They include functions for web browsing,
PDF processing, voice guidance, searchable PDFs, and Bar code, Unicode and OCR fonts.

Narration:
These are overviews of the web browser, PDF process and voice guidance functions.

18

Narration:
The manual, automatic, a USB memory device, PSWC and CSRC can all be used to
enable license kits.

19

Narration:
This outlines the process of enabling the license kit manually.

18

Narration:
This is the process of enabling the license kit automatically.
The User directly enters the token code to the MFP, then the MFP will be automatically
accessed to the License Management Server.
Proxy settings need to be configured when the MFP is in a proxy environment.

19

Narration:
When using a USB memory device, a file is downloaded from the License Management
Server site using the serial and token number. The file is transported and used to enable
functions on the MFP using the USB memory device, as shown here.

20

Narration:
This workflow for enabling functions uses Page Scope Web Connections. The User enters
the token code generated from the PSWC site to the MFP, and then the MFP will be able to
automatically access the LMS server.
Proxy settings need to be configured when the MFP is in a proxy environment.

110

Narration:
By inputting the disable code and changing the MFP unique value, the previously used
license code will no longer be valid.

111

Narration:
Previously, you were required to manually input the code from the LMS in order to disable iOption functions.
In the current version, a disable code issued by the LMS can be saved to USB memory and
read from the USB memory by the MFP.
Disabling function performed direct access to LMS Server by the input of Token Code in the
Service Mode,
and the functional cancellation of it was also attained from MFP.

112

Narration:
The MFP board retains unique values, but in some cases, a discrepancy in unique values
will occur between boards, and i-Option functions will not be available.
In order to be able to use i-Option functions, it is necessary to use restore to ensure that the
same unique value is retained.

113

Narration:
This is the workflow for restoring.
In the current version, restoring function performed direct access from MFP by without
entering any code to LMS Server, and Restoring of it also became possible.

114

Narration:
Contact the support desk at a sales company, and request an initialization code.
Enter the initialization code you received using Service Mode of the MFP.
