Statement of Faith

To form my statement of faith, I used the doctrinal statements of both Briercrest College of the
Bible (http://briercrest.ca/about/what-we-believe/statement-of-faith/) and Bethel School of
Supernatural Ministry (http://bssm.net/about/webelieve).

I believe:

There is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all
that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be
eternally self-existentone being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely
trustworthy, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him yet we
willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of
this, sickness, death and judgment entered the world and now creation experiences the
effects and consequences of sin.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy
Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary, and is Gods Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit
to inaugurate Gods Kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried,
resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today, in the presence of God the
Father and in His people. He is "true God" and "true man."

We are saved by Gods grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing and receiving
Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts
us as we enter the Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters.

In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is
enabled to live a holy life and minister supernaturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit
according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4 is poured out on believers that they might have Gods
power to be His witnesses.

The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the
power of the enemysin, lies, sickness and torment.

The Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave his church
the ordinances of Baptism and Communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of
Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy,
preaching and living the good news of Gods love, discipling the nations, baptizing and
teaching them to love and obey God.

Heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the saved and the
lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit exist as one God, but as three distinct persons. They are distinct
in that the Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit, the son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit,
and the Holy Spirit is not the Son or the Father. They exist in complete unity and relate and talk
to each other, each fully God. Phil 1:2 shows God as Father, Titus 2:13 shows Jesus the son as
God, and Acts 5:3,4 show the Holy Spirit as God. Although they are three distinct persons, each
one God, God exists as one, as seen in
Isaiah 45:18 and James 2:19.
I believe God to be the inerrant, infallible author of the Holy Scriptures and that Scripture is
given to show, through the stories of people and through his working in their lives, the character
of God and the saving ministry of Jesus. People come to an understanding of the message of
Scripture through the power and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3: 14-17 gives us
assurance that God provides us with the tools we need to serve him fully and to know him in
relationship
Isa 61 is one Scripture that tells us that we are desperately in need of freedom, deliverance and
healing as a result of sin. In Luke 4:18 we read that Jesus has come, sent by God the Father to
release the captives, deliverance for the oppressed, sight to the blind and healing to the sick.
Matthew 1:18-25 records the conception of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit as was
prophesied in Isaiah chapter 40. Phil 2:6-10 records his willingness to set aside his equality with
God and become man, so that he pay the price that all men needed to pay, and make a way for all
people to come to God.
Col 1:13 tells us that weve been transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of
light, which is the kingdom of his Son. This is possible because of the work of Jesus on the cross.
Romans 3:22 and 4:24 are only two verses that tell us that righteousness will be granted to those
who believe in and trust in God. Ephesians chapter 2 describes our new life in Jesus as heirs
together with him.
In John chapters 14-16, Jesus reassures us that it is better that he goes so the Holy Spirit can
come and fill those who believe in him. He will teach them and lead them into all truth. His
power was seen at Pentecost as he filled the disciples, then empowered them to preach the life of
Jesus to all in Jerusalem, with the promise that the new church would also have power to preach
in the whole world. He reaffirmed his presence and power through miracles, signs and wonders.
As a result of Jesus work on the cross, and by the work of the Holy Spirit whom we have been
given as a seal (Eph 1;14) we have the power to defeat the enemy, and all the damage he
produces in our lives.
Matthew 25:46 describes the account of Jesus separating those who lived according to his
commands and those who didnt. He says that those who did not bring justice to the sick, poor,
hungry and thirsty will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous will receive eternal life
