Industry Forum 2014

Reaction Paper
Industry Forum helps major manufacturers understand, optimize and improve
both manufacturing capability and business performance. On November 3, 2014
happened the Industry Forum in University of San Carlos. It has been participated by
the BS Architecture students. Different representatives from the various leading
industries in the country came to introduce and promote their products, these include
the Aboitiz RAFI, Andorra tiles, Boysen, Accoya, Hafele, CMI, Bugati and Ferroli and
Cebu Home Builders. Each were given adequate time to talk about the problems they
have encountered, the actions they have taken to resolve it and their plans of fostering
developments in their products.
Several problems were addressed such as cracked pavements, wood-destructive
fungi, insubstantial paints, space-filching furnitures, energy-consuming appliances,
gloomy lighting and the like. Each industry showed off a variety of effective solutions to
such problems with each focusing on their expertise. They have showed inspiring idea
of addressing such numerous problems and their various plans of actions. Andorra
Tiles for example, presented their beautifully designed efficient tiles for flooring as an
answer to the cracked pavements problem. They consider not just the appearance of
their product but also the quality they can offer to their customer. Boysen Paint also
exhibited their long-lasting, water-resistant paints that would surpass weather

challenges as a resolution to the problem of frail and lightweight paints. Hfele, on the
other hand, showcased their terrific designs of furniture fittings that would not only
conserve space but exemplifies appropriate and comfortable living in small vicinities.
Bugati and Ferroli delved into the production of energy-saving products that are not only
affordable but are also of great use in making work faster and easier for all its
consumers. These is in accord with their aim of providing competent products that are
economical and cost-effective
The forum is indeed an excellent venue in tackling social and industrial issues
that are frequent in our society today. It is beneficial not just for the participants but also
for the Industries themselves, for they are given the best opportunity to share their
visions of change and developments in the pace of scientific and technological
advancement. It opens doors of valuable and functional ideas to young visionary like us.
We are enthused with the astounding works of the industries in their aspiration of
bringing change. As an architecture student, I am challenged and inspired to do
likewise, to achieve brilliant and constructive plans to address problems as such. I am
thrilled even more to venture on the different areas that I might be of help and initiate
projects that would certainly deliver improvement and betterment and maybe someday
be one of the speakers for the next industry forum.
