The nalla bed is 371.625 m, C.B.L. is 375.53 m and F.S.L. is 376.68 m. Considering the above controlling levels An R.C.C Box Type D
this location.

5.0 Design Features:

1 no of Box of size 2m x 1.8 m is proposed. The Barrel is Divided into 3parts I.e Under the canal bed , and that under Right and Left banks
Barrel is designed for the two conditions i.e
& there is external pressure acting due to earthen bank or canal water (the Earthen banks are saturated),and
being empty and no pressure is acting from out side.
It is also checked for uplift when
& drainage through barrel is nil , for uplift at the centre of the barrel , and

Approximate Length OF barrel
The Length of Barrel is Calculated on the basis of Central Bed Level

371.625

Top of Brest wall should be kept 0.45m above the HFL.

U/s & D/s Brest Wall Level =

371.625 + 0.45=

372.075 m

Length of barrel on U/S side

= 1.15/2+(1.15 + 0.6) X1.5 + 1.5 + (377.28 - 372) X 2
= 15.260 m
Length of barrel on D/S side
= (1/2 B.W. + (F.S.D. + F.B.) x side slope + S.R. width + (T.B.L. - Breast wall top) x outer slope
= 1.15/2+(1.15 + 0.6) X1.5 + 4 + (377.28 - 372) X 2
