History of the Game

I regard golf as an expensive way of playing marbles.

G.K. Chesterton

On 25 January 2015, 16 esteemed gentleman will compete for the Pink Dogs Cup at
The Malvern Valley Golf Course in Melbourne. With the exception of the Masters
Tournament held annually at Augusta National Golf Club, the competition remains the
only other major championship in professional golf to be played each year at the same
course.
The competitions exclusive membership has drawn criticism, with the chair only
admitting esteemed barons.
Since the Cups early inception in 2011, the event has been graced by the presence of
notable guests including Thomas Ice Cold Chang, and Harry Schadenfreude
Permezel.
2015 will again see some of the best and brightest male professional golfers compete
side-by-side with some of the worlds leading Corporate and Sporting identities to
claim Australian golf's most prized piece of silverware The Pink Dogs Cup. It is of
no surprise then, that the names engraved on that cup are synonymous with Major
championship history.

The Field

The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be
the one who controls that chaos, both his own and the enemies.

The Rules
General Rules
-

Rules are enforceable from Hole number 6 at the Valley. Regardless of the allocated shots, all
players must have a minimum of 5 shots prior to drinks after the front 9.

All players must wear ridiculous golf attire (accompanied with a collar or wear a collared
shirt before playing the first hole so that the Course Warden permits us to play). The man
with the least ridiculous attire must skull a beer during the interval after the 9th. The winner
at the Royal Power Club House will also paddle them after the game at post-ceremony
drinks.

All shots must be consumed at the end of each hole

Timeliness is imperative to the success of the event. For every 5 minute block a player
arrives after 10.20am, they will be paddled by the winner at the post-ceremony drinks..

Drink discretely & most importantly, drink responsibly.

Game Rules
1. Pods & Pairs
Play in pairs. Each pair will compete against another pair in a Pod. Pods are subject to change on the
back nine based on front nine performances.

2. Closest to the tee

Closest to the tee challenge at every Par 3; whichever team lands the ball closest to the tee is both the
victors & the losing team must consume 1 shot. If all players fail to land the ball on the green or
fairway, all players must consume 1 shot.

3. The Longest Drive

On each hole, a team must begin by contending for the longest drive. The team with the longest drive
wins. The losing team must drink one standard 30ml shot. Please note that on Par 3 holes, Rule #2
supersedes Rule #3.
4. Scoring & The reasonable man
Scoring is to be done in pairs. If a team member hits a 5 & the other a 6, then their score on that hole
is 11. If the competing team scores 14, the losing team drinks the score disparity.
ie. One-person drinks 2, the other drinks 1 the allocation is decided via drunken reasoning and
arguing.

5. One in the Drink, Two in the Sink

If you hit water hazard, both players in the team drinks two shots each.

6. Lost one shoe, found the other

If you lose your ball in play in any areas other than the water, you & your teammate must consume a
shot. If you pickup a stinge ball (one that youve found), and have elected to keep it, you must
declare it to your Pod and consume a shot.

The Prize

It is deeply satisfying to win a prize in front of a lot of

people.
E.B. White

The Pink Dogs Cup has been dubbed the most sought after piece of silverware in any

lose his vision completely and utterly for one day receives his name engraved on the
