Actual Facts Study Sheet Guide#1

Did you discover what the Area of the Land is

called? It is called the Lithosphere. The Earth is
composed of several layers, or spheres, somewhat
like the layers of an onion. The solid Earth consists
of a thin outer layer, the crust, with a thick rocky
layer, the mantle, beneath it. The crust and the
upper portion of the mantle are called the
lithosphere. At the center of Earth is the core. The
outer part of the core is liquid, while the inner part
is solid. Much of Earth is covered by a layer of
water or ice called the hydrosphere. The Earth is
surrounded by a thin layer of air, the atmosphere.
The portion of the hydrosphere, atmosphere, and
solid land where life exists is called the biosphere.
The Quran and Lessons mentions these and many
other scientific facts. Here is a sample from the
Quran
"If you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the
sun and the moon?" They will surely reply: "Allah." How then are they deviating (as
polytheists and disbelievers)?" (Surat Al-Ankabut (The Spider):61);

"And the earth We have spread out, and have placed therein firm mountains, and caused to
grow therein all kinds of things in due proportion." (Surat Al-Hijr (The Rocky Tract): 19);

“And He has cast firm mountains in the earth lest it quake with you, and rivers and roads
that you may go aright, And landmarks. And by the stars they find the right way”

(Surat An-Nahl (The Bees):15);

"And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them, and We
placed therein broad highways for them to pass through, that they may be guided."

(Surat Al-Anbiya (The Prophets):31);
