In addition to all my documents provided, I would like to take this great opportunity to write a
motivation letter to clarify my main reason that drives me to apply for Doctorial Program in
Quantitative economics.
On the 5th of May 1985, I, Nasir Jamal was born in Malakand District in Khayber Pakhtonkhwa
Province in Pakistan. My diligence towards academics helped me to secure higher grades in my
High school, College and Universities. I completed my School Education with 85% marks (A+
grade) and College Education 77% marks (A grade). I got my Bachelor Degree in Business
Administration from University of Peshawar with 3.33/4.00 CGPA. To upgrade my knowledge
in this field, I have taken up MSc in Finance from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University Islamabad
with 3.60/4.00 CGPA. My thesis for the completion of study titled Relationship of Single Stock
Futures with the Spot Prices: Evidence form Karachi Stock Exchange. I also learn Basic German
language at National University of Modern languages in Islamabad with A Grade.
My experience over the last few years have led me on an initially desultory but always valuable
path which I believe is excellent preparation for Doctorial Program in Quantitative economics. I
worked as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Qatar Charity (NGO) in Pakistan. My expertise
and skills of collecting Qualitative and Quantitative data and analyzing them have contributed a
lot in Qatar Charity as well as in a project sponsored by UNICEF in flood affected areas in
Pakistan in 2008. Training the field researchers about the use of Personal Digital assistant (PDA)
with Global Positioning system in field surveys was a challenging task for me which I fulfill with
excellence. I worked as a Lecturer at University of Malakand and it was again worthy experience
in my life to transfer practical knowledge to the new students. My voluntary contribution to
eradicate polio in Peshawar district and helping people with disability led to receive Duke of
Edinburgh awards (Bronze and Silver).
The reason to apply for this specifics program comes from the fact that in the near future I would
like to get to know more things regarding the fundamental disciplines of Economics and acquire
a broad overview of its applications. During my Master study, I got interest in the field of
Economics. I had basic knowledge of the field of Economics after studding Micro and Macro
Economics in my Bachelor study, but I got further insight after studding Economic analysis and

Publics Finance courses in my Master study. I already got some ideas in my head, but
unfortunately until now I did not have the right knowledge and the right tools for putting them in
practice. I believe this Doctorial Program would be an excellent starting point for me.
After completing my Doctorial study, I would like to pursue teaching job in a university as a
national service. At the arrival of 21st century, the importance of research in Economics

has

increased tremendously due to Economic crisis. After three years, I would be in a best position to
explain solutions to many unsolved questions in economics. My passion to inspire the coming
generation and to give something back is the main reasons why I like this profession. The PHD
program will be the best preparation for the career of teaching. My spirit of professional loyalty
and self-sacrifice will make the teaching job easy for me.
I declare that my purpose of study in Germany is very genuine and will make a successful career
in the field of economics. I have chosen the University of Kiel which is known for world class
research facilities. The department website revealed a very strong faculty involved in extensive
research in the area of economics. I feel that Doctorial study at this university is the best type of
further education, at this juncture because of the flexibility incorporated in its learning system, its
infrastructure, the intense interaction with the industry and exposure to the latest technology. By
studying abroad, I will have the opportunity of studding in International environment which will
give me the privilege to create new relationships with the people from different cultures. I would
love to see a society where people would live together despite having different religions and
cultures. Not only this, but I will also get the opportunity to let people of Germany know about
my culture, values and language.
In order to prove my abilities and gain new skills, I will be patiently waiting for a positive reply.
