TITLE
ECOLOGICAL BALANCE RESORT
INTRODUCTION
A resort is a place to enjoy life with family, friends, leaving all yours
worries behind. A place far away from your home without leaving
impression of staying in your own house. A resort is a place full of
entertainment fun with knowledge sharing and provides feelings of
togetherness for particular period.
Environment of a resort is absolutely different then a club house, while
both provides entertainment, fun and relaxation. A club house is a place
near urban settlements. While resort is far away from urban locality in a
pollution free location, may be for a particular cause i.e. near seashore [to
enjoy beach], on hill site [to enjoy mountain], forest site [to enjoy nature],
island site[to enjoy water] or desert site [to enjoy calmness of desert].
Human being leaving with many stresses at work or in daily life cycle in
urban area and the in the built environment of concrete jungle spaces all
around and in temperature controlled environment with very less green
spaces where ecological imbalance is found at every movement of their
lives. Control environment in leaving place and working place emitting lots
of heat, Vehicles and industries emitting carbon footprint and increasing
layer of ozone in upper atmosphere is creating health issues. Ozone layer
slowly and slowly increasing towards lower part of atmosphere has
become one of the causes of global warming and is a big concern to this
generation. Other causes were carbon footprints, decrease of forestation.
More and more uses of sub terrain water, less storage of ground water etc.
In the name of development, we remove trees and vegetation, changes of
land use and keep expanding paved areas. All these not only affect the
soil ecology, but also the water balance and causes ecological imbalance.
Increased urbanization also requires more water to feed the city's
population and industry, often requiring deeper and deeper wells to be
drilled to fetch water causes problems of creating voids below ground.
In the world environment is the life to the living things called
surrounding.In current situation all over the world building construction is
becoming a part to damage environment. Through mining for; (a) material
for building construction, (b) material for indirect use, (c) material to
produce electricity, (d) material used for bio-diversity product through
labs and pharmaceuticals. All these mine imbalance nature directly or
indirectly. Because of mining the chances of earthquake is increased. And

for this damage many waste generate in environment and its impact
create damage to a living things and thus ecosystem is imbalance.
Environment gives us many thing but humans need more than it, as a
human being we hardly satisfy our needs.
As a sensitive human being and sensitive and creative architects we must
consider all these parameters for design of a resort. And we shall be
helpful to bring nature in designing all our built and open environment to
balance ecology.
I chose resort project on hilly site because my interest towards mountains
and mountain adventures. There is good panoramic view with surrounding
mountain. In these mountain range there are very small and large natural
lakes, valley, seasonal small rivers merging in to lakes, which creates
natural environment to the resort. In vicinity of the site are many tourist
places like i.e. wildlife sanctuaries, spiritual places, reservoir and dam site.
In future world tallest statue of sardar vallabhbhai patel will became major
point of attraction. Absolutely pollution free area and forest like
vegetation.
The purpose to select this topic is to understand parameter of ecological
balance through designing buildings and how they are applied. In my
thesis I wise to solve the environmental issues with use of renewable
energy, natural recourses and waste management. Aim is to design
buildings and surrounding balancing nature to maintain ecosystem with
use of less energy used in built form. My intension is to design this project
to solve the environmental issues generating during the building
construction, building waste generated after the completion of the
construction and waste water management. To solve this all issues with
use of natural recourses and renewable energy.In resort project there are
many environmental issues generate which I will incorporate in my
design. In resort there are issue of water management, energy
consumption use of recycled material and rain water harvesting.
AIM
In this design thesis my aim is to provide solutions to design built and
open environment to balance ecological system through use of different
material, space design, environment planning, use of vernacular material
and local labour and renewable energy.
OBJECTIVE

To create harmony through ecological balance in built and open

environment.

SCOPE

Solar energy; produced electric city and water heating.

Water management; rain water harvesting, recycling water and reuse it,
solid waste management.
Material; local material, use recycled material, easily available.

LIMITATION
Scope is limited to study use of local material, local technology and
natural resources.
Designing resort without disturbing ecological system.
Not to use those material element at design which provides ecological
imbalance.
