What is the EN 13000?

EN 13000 is the basic standard to fulfill the European
Machinery Directive.

If the EN 13000 is active, other shut off limits and

other conditions for possible bypasses apply.
The standard must be checked every 5 years

12 Safety Lifting by EU standard

Copyright Liebherr 2012 EN 01

This standard is valid for all new cranes, which are

delivered from 01.05.2010 into the EU.
On these machines, the EN 13000 must be activated.

Points from EN 13000

(1) scope
EN13000 does not cover hazards related to the lifting of
persons.
Mobile cranes covered by this European standard are
designed for a limited number of stress cycles and
particular properties of motions.
4.1.2 Load effect
Load effect consider the configurations without changing
outriggers, counterweight, counterweight position.
