canon knife, tape measure, heat sealers, strapping equipment, etc. to
complete a packing function. Use shrink wrap machines to secure
material to pallets. Operate an electric, gasoline or diesel powered
forklift which is capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000
pounds and as high as 168 inches. Also operate extension forklift.

obvious differences in basic content (such as rubber, metal, wood,
paper or plastic). Complete work assignments within general
warehousing plan without instructions on methods, procedures, or
techniques to use. Receive and complete warehousing work
assignments through verbal or written instructions using standard
operating procedures. Verify that procedures have been properly

Over the years I have performed packing duties for Maintenance


Department, Receiving, Warehousing, Mixing Departments, Radial Tire
Room, etc. Raw materials, equipment, motors, parts, etc. hae to be
shipped to other production plants or to Manufacturer for repair or
replacement. Perform standard and/or routine packing assignments,
packing and repacking a variety of items for shipment such as kits,
parts, tools, supplies, equipment, etc. utilizing a wide variety of
standard packing materials, methods, and techniques. Pack items in
accordance with very specialized requirements. Items custom packed
are heavy, bulk items of an unusual size, pattern or shape. Compare
material to be packed with any accompanying documentation and/or
information from UNISIS screens. Immediately take action to correct
errors such as wrong stock or quantity that has been sent to the pack
line. Use a variety of packing procedures and techniques for selecting
container, placement of item, wrapping, cushioning, sealing, marking,
and labeling. Select the appropriate container from a wide selection and
variety of containers including wood, fiberboard, and plastic, taking into
consideration such factors as size, weight, dimensions, condition,
fragility, sensitivity, unit of issue, level of pack specified or required,
mode of shipment, and destination. Strategically place items in
containers to maximize container storage capacity and/or for proper
cushioning. Determine the type of cushioning to use, and the
cushioning techniques to employ, using a variety of techniques to
cushion the material. Add any brackets, mounts, foam, and/or inserts
to protect the items from unnecessary damage or movement.
Determine the most effective and efficient means of pack and ways to
reduce transportation costs. Ensure all labeling, marking, and
addressing requirements are met prior to releasing material for final
loading/shipment. Adapt and modify containers to properly package
items. Determine methods and techniques of packing to be used. Select
the types of cushioning materials or devices to use in order to prevent
shifting and/or damage to items. Use desiccants in packing some items
to prevent or limit moisture and prevent corrosion. Identify items and
check for obvious signs of damage or wear such as dents, broken or
missing parts, and corrosion.

Check lists showing stock identification changes to insure that the
proper items are selected and assembled for issue. Assemble items for
shipment in the loading area according to information provided on the
shipping requests, and check the condition of shipping containers prior
to loading. Complete and sign shipping and receiving reports. Keep
record of materials or items received or distributed. Count types and
quantities of items during inventories, and maintain tally listings during
the count. Use Radio Frequency (RF) handheld to determine picks and
assist in loading trucks appropriately. Pick by priority or by what has to
be pulled in the area with emergency picks done immediately. Perform
counts or inventory of items or pallets of material. Perform requisition
of lost items using UNISIS System to locate misplaced material. Scan
documents. Off-load materials from tugs and flatbeds, and move to
staging lanes, various locations to and from pallets, or onto carrier
container for shipment. Select storage locations by size, shape, and
quantity. Assure shipping items are properly marked, tagged, labeled
and in properly marked containers against shipping document. Use
warehousing procedures for item identification such as comparing
information on shipping or receiving document with stock items.
Manually stack, palletize, arrange and rotate items according to height,
width, weight instructions; knowledge of aisles, rows, tiers within
warehouse operation. Place parts and materials in designated bins or
spaces accurately, loading and unloading conveyances. Select identified
warehousing items for issuance. Identify items and check for obvious
signs of damage or wear such as dents, broken or missing parts, and
corrosion. Determine whether material should be routed for technical
review, storage, repair or disposal. Receive materials and equipment
and place them in proper storage areas, recording data as required.

Serve as Shift Supervisor for Cooper Tires Distribution Center. I direct


the daily tire warehousing, shipping and receiving workload through
assigned personnel performing tire receiving, warehousing, shipping,
material examining, material identification, etc. Direct the
accomplishment of daily tire requisition orders and coordinate
distribution support with transportation. Review the daily tire inbound
freight schedule to determine the routing of inbound tire shipments to

to identify type of shipping conveyance (truck, rail, sea, or air).
Coordinate tire shipping with transportation for the daily allocation of

warehousing management for the storage of inbound tire shipments
and assignment of warehouse locations into UNISIS for received tires.

UNISIS and other data systems to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Outlook to report daily for tire management practices.
Use these data management systems to perform tracking, inquiries,
process tire orders, cancellations, tire pick and stow status, tire
shipping status codes, and open vehicle load orders (VLO). Performed
research and analysis of tires shipping late. Conduct research inquiries
on information requested by senior management, Home Office at Finlay,
Ohio, and data management systems to upload shipping information
into Radio Frequency tracking tags. Develop and implement guidance
on tire warehousing and distribution management in compliance with
Cooper, OSHA stock readiness and shelf life management of tires.
Develop and implement guidance on tire shipping operations to comply
with transportation regulatory requirements for tire shipping. Perform
tire warehouse facility management and material handling equipment
(MHE) management functions related to the upkeep, repair, and
determination of tire facilities and MHE requirements. Define tire
racking storage aids requirements to support warehoused tires and
define tire warehousing space utilization requirements. Reveiw and
approve all procurement requirements for operating supplies and
equipment. Attend meetings and conduct conference calls with staff,
senior management, and company managers on issues related to tire
warehousing and distribution management. Conduct distribution center
