Ministry Update

Missions Conference 2015

The 2015 WOL Hungary Missions Conference was focused on the spiritual needs in Japan, a fitting
connection with our Conference speaker, Pastor Randal Gilmore, Director of WOL Japan and
Regional Director of the Pacific Rim. The Missions Conference theme was By All Means inspired
by 1 Corinthians 9:22, To the
weak I became weak, that I
might win the weak. I have
become all things to all people,
that by all means I might save
some. It was an encouraging
weekend for the students and
the guests in attendance from
several countries including
Romania, Italy, and the Czech
Republic, as well as Hungarian
alumni who came back to say
hello.

Paul has written a book! Check out the back page of the Weaver Prayer Calendar
(attached to this email) to read more about Pauls new book, Introducing the
New Testament Books, and how you can be a part of the next edition.

Bible Club at the Weavers House!

One of Jills favorite ministries is the neighborhood
Bible Club which meets at our house every week.
What a joy it is to open our home to the village
children who so desperately need the Lord. The
demographics of the Bible Club this year have been
quite different than the past, with only Gypsy
children in attendance. The numbers, however, are
higher than ever before, averaging 18 kids per week!
Jill shares just a few of the blessings she has
experienced from this ministry:

There were 10 new

students that started the BI
in January!
Many invitations to
minister in Hungarian
churches.
Generous donations to the
Solid Foundation
Scholarship Fund.
Ministry dedications made
at the Missions Conference.
Gods continuous blessing
upon our lives and ministry.
Wonderful supporters like
you!

Almost all the children bring their Bible each week, although some of them are the gigantic
family Bibles, which are almost bigger than the kids themselves! They are faithfully memorizing
Scripture, behaving well, and listening eagerly to the Bible stories.

Paul and I chose to walk to work one morning, and two of the children we passed along the
way were Club kids who excitedly said hello!. We could have a nice conversation with them
and wish them a good day at school.

I look forward to hugs from the girls each week as they come in the door. One of the girls even
gave me a friendship bracelet and told me I was beautiful. How special each of these moments
are to me, and what a joy fills my heart.

Please pray for this ministry and our church as we seek to reach the village of Talms for Christ!

Political Situation: The current political situation in Hungary is quite

fragile, and the people are discouraged. Prime Minister, Viktor Orbn,
recently signed-off on a $13.7-billion loan from Russia in order to
upgrade Hungarys only nuclear power plant with two Russian-built
reactors. This loan was met with much retaliation from Hungarians
who do not want to rely on Russia for energy. The people are also
frustrated by a possible tax on internet usage, as well as a new toll on
every major highway in the country. Resentment is growing and the
future looks bleak. A recent poll states that almost 50% of Hungarians
between ages 20 and 35 would move abroad to never come back
home if the opportunity came. Indeed 72,000 Hungarians left the
country in 2012 alone.
A recent demonstration by the people in front of Parliament.

Why would you want to live in Hungary of all places? This is a

question we are asked quite often. What an opportunity to share the Gospel! Please pray for the political situation in Hungary.
Whats more, pray for Word of Life as we present a the message of HOPE in Jesus Christ to a seemingly hopeless nation.

Tax Ruling: Thank you for your prayers concerning the

Ministry Trip to Slovakia: One of the strategic plans for the

Hungarian/expat social security tax deadline of January 1,

2015 . According to our legal authorities, the Hungarian
government has chosen to delay the tax ruling another six
months. This means a temporary relief from the additional
33% social security tax. For those who have been following
this situation closely, you know that this uncertainty has
continued for our American missionaries (only two units left)
for nearly three years as the Parliament continues to make
delays. The US and Hungarian tax authorities are not
communicating well, creating inefficiency and frustration. If
nothing changes, we will still be accountable to both US and
Hungarian social security taxes starting July 1, 2015. We
praise the Lord for this temporary reprieve, however we are
praying for a final and conclusive answer to this ongoing saga.

Bible Institute this year was to formulate a Ministry Outreach

Team of BI students who would travel to youth conferences
and youth groups throughout Hungary and Central Europe. By
participating in these events through song, drama, and Bible
teaching, we are able to encourage the youth in their faith as
well as challenge them to invest a year of their life in studying
Gods Word at the Bible Institute.

Name: Adrian Dinu

Age: 23
Country: Romania

Paul will be leading a team to one of these events in Slovakia,

February 20-22. The team will lead the worship at a popular
youth conference held by a familiar church in Trencn,
Slovakia. Please pray for the details of this event, as well as
the success of future opportunities for the Ministry Outreach
Team.

Student Spotlight

Why Did You Come to the Bible Institute? God put this idea in the mind of my Mission Director,
Iulian Avramescu at LIFE Romania. Iulian, a 2003 graduate, knows the Bible Institute first hand, and is
thankful for the training that he received from godly Bible teachers. I trusted his leadership and I do
NOT regret this decision. I am so privileged and blessed to be a student here!
How Would You Like to Serve the Lord in the Future? As soon as I graduate this year, I will return to my native country,
Romania, to serve with Iulian at LIFE Romania. This is my heart's desire more than anything else. Although I enjoy my studies
right now I can hardly wait to be full time serving the people of my country reaching the youth with the Good News!
