Nov 2008 Aug 2010

Project Description
Modular Rewrite and Excess
There are two main objectives of the Modular Rewrite and Excess project: to rewrite
the current Polaris-supported modular policy and to implement a new Excess
product.

The rewrite of the current modular policy will enhance the policy to allow the PNP,
PCL and FI Business Units to share and utilize the same core coverages; however,
each Business Unit will maintain its own product branding:
Wrap+ (PNP)
Executive Choice+ (PCL)
SelectOne+ (FI)
The following existing core coverages will be rewritten as part of the modular policy:
Private D&O
Non-Profit D&O
EPL
Fiduciary
MPL
Crime
K&R (f.k.a. K&E)
ID Fraud
In addition to these existing coverages, three new core coverages will be included
as part of the modular policy. These three coverages will be incorporated into the
Polaris system and follow the established Wrap+ workflow.
Public D&O
PPL
Government Entity Crime
The second objective of this project is the full system support of the new Excess
product, which also includes support for Quota Share. There will be two new Excess
policies:
Excess Liability
Excess Crime
These Excess policies can be written by the PNP, PCL, FI and PL Business Units
based on the primary coverages included. As the Excess product functions
differently than a primary product, supporting Excess in Polaris will require changes
to both the user and system workflow.

There are over 200 products in this system. UWS is used as the lookup for all the
other systems (products) in the BOND portfolio. UWS is also integrated with all the
other systems.
