(Nature/Culture)./The course is an anthropological study of the body and the senses
to demonstrate how biology/nature and culture/society interact in the shaping of
humanity. The body is the material and ideological site of human interaction and
politics that is why it is analyzed in different cultural contexts and varying social
conditions and norms.

Pangkalahatang
Layunin:
pananaliksik, sa Antropolohiya bilang isang disiplina at kasangkapang pangakademiko sa pag-aaral ng lipunan at kultura ng tao./That the students may have an
understanding of the bio-cultural processes involved in the functions of and
meanings attached to the human bodies. That the course may help them better
understand themselves and the culture to which they belong; but at the same time
teach them to recognize cultural differences as well as appreciate shared traits and
patterns of behavior. That the students may learn key concepts of Anthropology
both as a social science discipline and a research tool used to study culture and
society.
