decoration and home textiles programme of 29 companies celebrates the countrys unique
diversity of culture and design.
Four of the companies are represented at Ambiente 2015, exhibiting fresh new directions,
where sustainable natural raw materials are crafted by hand, using unique production
methods in eye catching contemporary design.
Cowgirlblues is a dye house and design studio specialising in mohair and
merino wool. Cowgirlblues is all about personal connection and quality.
Each piece is individually handcrafted using traditional methods, with a

Madagascar. 9 companies from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Madagascar will be showing

traditions of this culturally diverse region, infused with contemporary design elements. All
products are skillfully handcrafted using locally available materials and age-old production

KICK is specialized in recycling waste into cheerful greetings. The company


utilizes waste paper, water hyacinth, copper wire, tin, tetra-packs and old
mobile phone cards to craft beautiful greeting cards for almost any occasion.
Each card is 100% handcrafted and reflects an amazing ingenuity and ability
to improvise. Based on the shores of Lake Victoria, Kick gives employment to

Uganda Crafts 2000 - Uganda

EXPLORE BANGLADESH

Bangladesh is well known for growing a wide variety of natural fibers. There are 9
Bangladeshi companies in CBIs Export Coaching programme for sustainable home
decoration. One participates at Maison&Objet the other 8 participate at Ambiente 2015.
All work with materials from renewable sources: Palm leaf, sea grass, jute, water hyacinth,
silk, date leaf and hemp. These versatile raw materials have many applications: As the
basic material for baskets and rugs, as an accent in hand woven fabrics and as the basis
for beautiful accessories. Each of the companies in this programme has managed to create
its own signature style collection, marrying traditional skills with contemporary influences.

Intend BD Crafts uses a variety of natural fibers to craft its beautiful range

be showing their new collections at the Ambiente and Maison et Objet trade fairs, as well
